  1. Several years ago, my wife and I were on a cruise with our grown daughter. The last night, there was Bingo for a free cruise. I said to my wife, “Let Stacey play Bingo, and we can go to the room and pack, wink wink.”  She decided to play bingo.

So I go pack, and plan to meet them to watch the last show.

I go to the showroom just as the announce, “We have one good Bingo for a free cruise.”  My first thought is great, Bingo is over, so the show can start.

People are clapping, and my wife and daughter are jumping up and down. I walk in to their row, just as one of them says, “Daddy doesn’t know yet.”  Yes I do!

  2. We arranged for the Kosher meals when we booked the cruise. I am not concerned about the meals in the dining rooms, just the breakfasts and lunches on Lido. I don’t want  them to call room service for the meals and find out at that time that there is nothing for them. I will make sure that they bring paper plates and plastic silverware with them just in case they are needed.

    Thanks for your help.

  3. We are cruising in July on Carnival Conquest. Some in our group have ordered Kosher meals.

For those who have done this, how was your experience?

How do they receive their meals for breakfasts or lunches not served in the dining rooms?

     Thanks in advance.

  4. We are in the first segment as we are boarding the ship. I hope we are in the last segment when they used us for extras in the bar. It was fun and the ship is big enough that they did not get in our way at all. So now we are movie stars:D BTW, 2nd time on the Allure and still had a great time!

My son worked on the production crew for the show. He probably handed you a drink ticket or asked you to sign a release.

  5. This is the cabin we're booked in next week four our 12-15-13 sailing out of Miami. By chance, does anyone have any pictures of this particular cabin, or other OS rooms on the Dream class ships?

My wife and I will be right next door to you in 7273. Knock on our door to say hello.

  6. I'm very interested in using this "LAST ROLL" COME BET strategy.

I know your post was about your 6 hour casino cruise. I'm sailing on the NCL Epic May 5th from Barcelona. How many hours before reaching port does NCL usually make a similar "Last shooter" announcement?

    I love your screen name.

I don't stay up until the casino closes, but it probably closes around 3:00 am, plenty of time before they get to port.

  7. In about a week or so I'm heading to the NCL EPIC. Looking forward to this reportedly "casino" friendly line of ships.

Any comments on the craps? Single odds, double odds? Any value to getting the Casino Players card?

Craps on NCL has 3-4-5 time odds. I always bet maximum odds.

Definitely get a players card, and ask to be rated every time you play, especially if you play a minimum of $25 a bet.

The next time you want to sail NCL, call Casinos at Sea and ask if you have earned a discount, or even an (almost) free cruise. You always have to pay fees and port taxes. If you book the next cruise through them, when you get to your cabin you will already have a players card and a free drink card for everyone on your booking.

  8. I wonder what they would have done if his roll didn't end before we docked?

This is not an unusual situation. A couple of minutes before the ship is getting ready to head back in, they will make an announcement. "The slots will close in five minutes. Cash out now."

At the card games, they will announce "last three hands."

At the blackjack table they will announce "last shooter." When the shooter sevens out, the game is over. If the shooter does not seven out, eventually they will announce "last decision." This means that when the shooter makes the point, or when he sevens out, the game is over.

If the shooter does not seven out or make his point, eventually they will announce "last three rolls." "Last two rolls." "Last roll." Here is a hint...Whenever it gets down to "last roll," and it does not happen often, bet the table max on the come. If the last roll is a seven or eleven (8 chances), you win. If the last roll is a craps (4 chances) you lose. Any other roll, you get the come bet back. Odds are two to one in your favor. You will never get better odds than that in a casino.

If the casino was smart, they would not allow a come be on the last roll, but I have never seen it questioned.

  9. I'm looking forward to my upcoming EPIC trip. Hear so much about NCL being "casino" friendly. ;) On the Allure last week there was probably only 20 regulars to the two craps tables and only warm one night so I broke even on craps and pittered it away on video poker just to pass the time.

Is Royal Caribbean still offering only single odds at the craps table? Very little benefits for high rollers? If nothing has changed, I will continue to avoid RCCL.
