Hi Ron, well our August 21 Grand New England sailing just got canceled this week. I figured that might happen but still sad it did. How soon did ACL refund your fare once your sailing was canceled? I have to cancel flights, hotels and post cruise plans as we have decided to stay put here in Florida for now.

Actually, in this case it was the town of Bar Harbor that said not even small ships can come.
Yes, I knew that about Bar Harbor, but I wrote I would not be surprised IF more ports also close down too.

Hi Ray,
I am so sorry to learn your cruise has been canceled. I am a travel agent so have been keeping an eye out for that to happen and I expect our August 21 sailing also will be a no-go. Have not heard yet but hoping ACL lets me know soon as we have flights booked that need to be changed. The Maine governor has been very strict so will not be surprised if more ports are closed to all cruise ships until next year. We live in Florida now but used to live in New England. We have a house on Cape Cod and have plans to go there following the cruise so will need to change flights if our cruise gets canceled. This has been a crazy, sad year in the travel business but we all will get through it together. Stay well and stay safe. Will post here when I know the status of our sailing. Chris

Hi All,
Anyone else booked on this sailing, aboard ACL Constitution? Hope it will still sail -- have not heard any thing contrary from the cruise line -- keeping fingers crossed.

Hi, we are booked for the August 21 sailing. Hopefully you will be able to go and then post some comments. Keeping an eye on the port openings should help give us an idea.

At Port Everglades embarkation the lines are clearly marked. One line for suites, 4 and 5 star mariners and Club Orange as the 'Priority Line'. Does the boarding pass not mention Club Orange?
Yes, my clients boarding passes had CO on them but they were still denied priority embarkation.

Owner's suite? Do you mean Pinnacle Suite? They would have been given CO. Did the others purchase it?
Yes, I meant Pinnacle Suite. The others purchased Club Orange.prior to sailing.

My clients with Club Orange were denied priority embarkation on their recent NA cruise that had so many issues that I doubt this group will sail with HA again. The upgrades they were offered were to the next category but in bad locations so they declined. In the group was a an owner's suite booking and they were the only ones that did not have complaints. But then again they were not intending to go ashoe at the ports the ship either missed or cut short the time due to the ongoing technical problems with the ship.

After shocks felt all over island, power out and so I am surprised the ship did not skip this port. Guess not since they skipped St. Martin. I would have not disembarked in San Juan if I were aboard. No need to feel the tremors of the after shocks. I hope my group on board is being careful. I had to cancel last week due to an open wound that I received on another ship from a cruise line staff member in Sep. I too have been alarmed by the lack of information forthcoming from HA, I was told the problem had been fixed by several travel agent resources. Just praying now my group has a good time and gets home safely.

How far a walk is Bowen's Wharf from the tender dock? My DH is recovering from an Achilles Tendon injury so don't want to force a very long walk. Thanks for all the updated information on Newport.

Happy journeys and keep up the great work.Chris

Hi, just a quick reply to your question about foliage. As a former long time New Englander I believe if you really want to see the colors a cruise is not the way to do it. Bar Harbor would have some color in mid Sep but not the other ports. Vermont and New Hampshire are the places to go in late Sep. for best viewing. Hope this helps. Chris
