  1. We book with our PVP. He is great. But I always know ahead of time what rooms we want, the rate we are interested in etc. Then I look for price drops (we book early saver) and contact our PVP for adjustments.

We used a travel agent for our second cruise and I don't see where we benefitted. I still had to look for the drops. Then since she wasn't familiar with it I had to instruct her on getting us our price adjustments.

  2. Our first cruise we used a TA. Bad idea for me. She wasnt familiar with price drops, so i had to watch for the, contact her if one happened and send her all the information. I had to explain to her what she needed to do to get the price drops credited. Ugh! We didnt get any break or perks for booking with her, so never again!

Our second cruise I called carnival , since we needed to book 2 rooms, and was assigned a PVP. At that time the web site wasn't as easy for booking multiple rooms. He is great. I still have to monitor the price drops, which I love! Its like a game:-) when I see one I just email my PVP and he deals with it.

I still have control since I research the cruise, pick our rooms and contact him. But I have someone I can call with my questions or email to make changes or get price drops.

    I love our PVP!

  3. We have only been on two Carnival ships so I can't really say which is my favorite, but I will say my least favorite is the Pride. The decor was ok, I didn't find it offensive or troubling. But my DS was very disappointed in the pools on the ship.

Our other ship was the Ecstasy. After sailing on her and using the water slides there, the Pride seemed even more disappointing. In July we will be on the Sunshine. I have a feeling based on what I have been reading that she will be our favorite.

BTW my least favorite ship that we have been on was the NCL Dream. It is no longer in service. She was very small and was ready to be retired when we sailed on her.

  4. What time should we plan on arriving at the port? Carnival's web site says that you should get there 1 1/2 hours before you embark. THey list that at 2pm for Baltimore. If we plan to be there between 11:15 and 11:30 will we be okay? I don't want to sit and sit, but since we cruise during the Feb break, the place will be packed with kids:eek:. So I want to have a little extra time to deal with that, plus the fact that we will have 8 in our group to keep together and check in.

  5. I have also been wondering about what stay and cruise package to go with. We are cruising in February. Does anyone have information on the Holiday Inn Express at the Stadiums? I am wondering about the neighborhood safety and the overall hotel. We do not plan on walking to dinner, ect from the hotel, but would want to feel safe at night and leaving our car there.

    Thanks
