  1. I am very new to RCL. My husband and I are going on a Mediterranean cruise out of Rome this summer departing on June 15.  There are no options available for dining or any onboard experiences (spa, etc) offered yet. I know these things are not always posted right away but I am wondering if there is any certain times they tend to show up. It’s a Multi port cruise and based on the Roll Call it seems like those boarding at the Barcelona stop (June 18) can book things already. What gives?

  2. Hi. We have a group of 14 sailing together in May. We all originally chose My Time Dining but later realized it would be better to change to Traditional Dining and link all of our cabins together. I emailed the Royal Caribbean dining reservation site and had someone change our reservations all to the late dining for all five cabins. However, even after she sent a screenshot of her computer that says we are confirmed for late seating, It’s still showing as my time dining on the website. Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m wondering if the website just does not update typically. The change was made on January 4 and still isn’t showing the correct dining time. Should I be concerned?

  3. I am sailing on the Mariner in a few weeks. This will be my first Royal Caribbean Cruise. We have previously sailed on Carnival and Norwegian. I mistakenly assumed My Time Dining was similar to other cruise lines “anytime dining” where you just show up and ask for a table so I did not make reservations until this evening. My earliest option for our group of 7 was at 8:15/8:30 every night. I am assuming that is because I am so very late getting on this task.  I’d much prefer 7:00 pm since my parents do not usually eat that late. So here are my questions:

    1. Is it possible more time slots will become available before we sail ?

    2. Can we change times onboard with our concierge since we are booked in a suite? If so, does it matter that some of our party is in a non-suite cabin?

    3. If we are unable to officially change to an earlier time, how much earlier could our reservation be honored? For example, could we come at 7:30 for our 8:15 reservation?

4.We have several reservations linked so I booked for all of our group.  However, the dining reservation doesn’t show on the other two cabins’ calendars. How can I be sure we will be booked together at a table for 7?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  4. Hi there! We just booked our first Royal Caribbean cruise and I’m very excited!! It will be me, my husband, and my two sons in a Grand Suite. My mom and step dad booked an ocean view room. My question is this...if our bookings are “linked”, can my parents sit with us at shows, restaurants, etc that have suite perks or will we have to split up (or I sacrifice the perks)? As an alternative, would buying The Key for my parents alleviate this issue? Thanks in advance for any help for what I’m sure is a dumb question.

  5. Thanks for the reply! I had read someone's review that mentioned Mother's Day carnations in the MDR. That's what got me thinking. Carnations for dad seems a little off though. A beer would be perfect but I doubt that's going to happen! LOL! Oh well, I guess we will find out tomorrow! My DH and BIL certainly deserve a little something special.

  6. Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, she can manage the step up to the bathroom (though I hadn't though of that so I'm glad you mentioned it). She is just a little wobbly so the walker allows her to navigate without the risk of falling down. I agree that she will probably end up in the wheelchair more often than not though. I mean, the dream is huge! I hadn't thought about the walker possibly being damaged so I think your suggestions to let her carry it or use it as a luggage carrier are brilliant! Again, thank you for being so helpful!

  7. My family will be traveling in 14 days on the Carnival Dream. My mother in law is coming along but due to some residual affects from a tumor on her sciatic nerve, mobility is an issue. She can get around with a walker but she is VERY unstable at times and tires easily. We have decided it would be best to bring her travel wheelchair as a backup in case the boat is rocky or she gets tired and to use on excursions (we have no tendering ports...Key West, Nassau, and Freeport). My thought is to let her use the wheelchair for embarkation/debarkation and check the walker. Does anyone know if this is allowed? We could carry it on for her but with five kids in tow, we will already have our hands full. Also, we did not anticipate her being disabled when we booked, do we need to notify carnival of anything?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  8. You don't mention when you are cruising but you should look into FTTF. That would solve your problem. Even if it is sold out now, it could open back up. I suggest emailing the shore excursion desk and asking if FTTF for your particular sailing will open back up. I did this on Wednesday for my June 15 Dream cruise (after suggested to me on these boards) and received an email the next day saying that FTTF would open up in five minutes and I was able to snag one!
