Hi, we have been on the Emerald twice and going to be again in the fall. I learnt soething new tonight. I never knew she had adult pools
-
I would like to know as well. We are in cabin D504 and would like to know if we have some cover. We love the Caribe deck as it was half covered and big balcony. But we decided to treat ourselves this year to a mini suite. This will be the 3rd time we have been on the Emerald.

We have never had any trouble taking wine on board. Sometimes up to 1/2 Dozen bottles. Never had to pay corkage fees.

Good to know. Thanks every one for your replies

Is it any better than regular dining rooms? Not sure if we should book the Crown Grill one night for our anniversary, Or just stay and eat in the club class dining room.

I don't think so if you're leaving from cruise terminal A, B, C or D. I don't recall any duty free shops in whichever terminal we embarked from a couple of years ago. All the terminals are in a long line with just drop-off and pick-up space alongside them.
Friends were just on a Princess cruise last year from this port. And they said there was a great duty free. They bought wine before they boarded and went again and picked up bottled water. I will have to Google it.😀

Does any one know if the duty free is still near where the Princess ships docks so we can buy wine before we board in Barcelona?

We are on the Emerald this October and I only see the phone package.

You cannot pre-pay grats via Cruise Personalizer using OBC on file. Only Princess Excursions.
Thats true, I paid with my credit card.

I am curious as to where you got your information. I have a b2b cruise starting on May 18, the second on May 25th. I don't see the increase in gratuities anywhere in my cruise personalizer nor in the FAQ's. So I just Princess and the woman I talked to has not been given any information either about an increase.
There are 8 of us going on a cruise in Oct and only one of us recived the email telling her of the increase in gratuities. She sent us all a copy of the email.

I would also question paying for the gratuities in advance. As I see it all you are doing is increasing the massive financial float Princess has - why let them invest your money and increase their profits when you can do it yourself? Pay them later only when you have to.
I have paid it but only because on our Princess profile it is in Canadian $. So saving some. Our cruise is not until Oct so don't know what the Canadian $ will be doing then. Hopefully not a lot lower.

OP: just a tip for any future threads you may start: the more specific your thread title in terms of the info you are seeking, the more you maximize your chance of getting that info.
Enjoy your cruise!
Thanks

Hi, would anyone know of a tour company they would recommend for 8 adults that enjoy good food, wine and history. We will be docked in Toulon, October 14/19,

We did the Grand Asia tour in April of 2013. The weather was good for most of it. We stayed in Beijing for 5 days pre-cruise and there was alot of smog. Weather in most of the other ports was good except Bangkok, which is always hot. It was a fascinating part of the world to see, but I don't know how it is on the Diamond now that they are marketing that ship to the locals. I have read many changes, like no anytime dining, which I loved on the Diamond because of the different dining rooms. Is Singapore on your itinerary? Singapore, Busan and Hong Kong were our favorites.
Did you take a ship tour or a private tour into Bangkok? We Have been on the Diamond before and loved it. Yes, Singapore is on the Itinerary.:)
-
I like the 17 day Grand Asia most...is that what you're looking at?
Yes, But I was reading some of the ports take 2-3 hour bus rides one way:) to get to main sights. And my Hubby is not to keen. :)
-
Weatherwise is good. We did a Sydney -Beijing Princess cruise around this time in 2013(with a land tour add-on). I'd be keen to see your itinerary.
Did you have a chance yet to look at itinerary? What do you think?
-
We have cruised with Princess 3 times. But we are looking at booking this cruise. I know it is a long way away but any one give us any advice for or against this cruise? This will be the longest we will be on a cruise ship and the most expensive cruise we will have taken. Not including the flights.
My TA says April and May is a good time to see this part of the world.

Spa treatments?
in Princess Cruises
Posted
I booked a couple of Spa treatments a couple of months ago. And I went on the spa webpage again to book another one. And the policy has changed. Now you cannot use your cruise credits for Treatments. You have to pay with pay pal or credit card. I phoned princess to ask why and they said too many were booking and then not turning up or canceling.
So I will have to head right up to the spa once we get on the Emerald so I can book and use my credit.
