I'm also new to the stockholder's benefit. How far in advance of a cruise can you apply for it?
Thanks!

Does anyone know what promo code BVSXIN means?
Oops, I just found it. Beverage, shore excursions & internet. We didn't take the specialty dining.

Quick question for those who are familiar with SEA…..just got an email asking if I wanted to schedule an appointment for TSA Spot Saver?
Is TSA THAT BACKED UP in SEA? Plus, they will only hold the spot for 15 mins. Little dicey given how difficult it is to predict disembarkation times and luggage retrieval.
Never heard of this. Comments!According to this, the TSA Spot Saver is not used in the TSA pre check lines. Guess it sends you to a regular TSA checkpoint

Is there any advantage to signing up prior to my cruise versus signing up while on the cruise? I used it last fall and signed up onboard and it worked great. Thanks!

Is it possible to walk this?
Mendenhall Glacier is 13 miles from the cruise dock. You would be walking along the road. I don't remember seeing any paths or sidewalks along the route when we went last October.

We used Port Valet October 2021 and it was great. Luggage tags and our boarding passes were left in our cabin the last day. We put our bags outside our cabin that night and the next time we saw them was at baggage claim in Philly. We had a full day of sightseeing without our bags. Remember it also saves you from having to check your bags in at the airport, so that saves time. When arrived at the airport, we went right to the TSA security line. This year we have a 12:30 pm return flight and plan to use Port Valet again.

Try deleting your browser history. Sometimes that helps! Or go to your account on another device.
I've done that as well as tried different browsers. It fails each time. I wanted to grab the Refreshment package on sale and it makes me nervous to do that if I can't get this other package cancelled.

I've been trying to cancel the deluxe beverage package for two weeks now. The website gives me an error message. Sent a message to them via Twitter, and the rep couldn't do it, apparently had another rep try and nothing. Now, there's an open ticket with IT. Ggggrrrrr

This was one of my favorite excursions ever. I did it in May 2019 so hopefully timing wouldn't be an issue. It is a bit more on the adventurous side, but it was just as amazing as watching a baby humpback play in the water for over an hour in Juneau.

I was in port long enough that I did a van tour in the morning that sorta took you the same way the train did. Then had the raft tour in the afternoon.
Thanks for the info!!! This looks great!

Mystery solved! I was poking around on the web and this site has the exact excursion listed https://alaskashoreexcursions.com/skagway/wildlife-safari-and-bear-viewing-tour with a note on the description that it is only offered July - September. We will be there in May. So, it shouldn't have been offered in the first place. On a good note, the refund has already gone onto my credit card. Now to decide on what to do in Skagway.

Which port?
Skagway. There are excursions showing, just not the one we booked.

Is the port where the excursion was scheduled still on your itinerary?
Yes, it is.

For those that asked if I received a refund: I've been chatting with a rep thru the RC twitter account, and apparently a refund was started 11/30 for it. There was no answer about the reason for the excursion in question no longer on our planner, but I don't see it available anymore. So perhaps, it was just completely canceled. Now I have them checking as we haven't gotten a refund from the two excursions we canceled previously.

that is unfortunate to hear.
In normal times I would say this is a very rare occurrence. But an email is normally always sent, if you used a TA your TA would have notified you. If booking with RCL they would have sent something, maybe it is stuck in a spam folder?
But cruising in Covid times pretty much anything can happen. Hope you are able to book something else!
I booked directly with RCL. No spam emails and I open every email from them even if it looks like the usual sales pitch/marketing ones.

We are booked for the first time with RC. I was checking our cruise planner today and saw that one of our excursions had been canceled. We did not receive any notification that it was canceled or when, just the amended order and it is gone from our calendar. Is this common with RC to cancel and not send an email or any kind of message?

You have to turn on COVID Exposure Notifications in your settings then some states have apps, some just work with just the settings turned on. New York has their own app. Not all states participate.
@zerooverideThanks for the info!!!

@zerooveride, which tracking app are you using. I don't currently have any on my phone and would like to get one. Thanks!

No. Only while in Washington State waters (which lasted until around 10:30 pm on departure night for our cruise - which had a delayed departure).
Thanks, Bird!!!! Safe travels!

Thanks, Bird! This has been extremely helpful. One question... is local tax charged on drinks while in the Alaskan ports?

that doesnt sound right.
12500 points should be worth $125.
What amex do you have?
I have AmEx Blue. I just checked and that's all it's worth for shopping with Amazon and other online shopping. If I use it to buy gift cards through AmEx, it is worth more for some, but not all gift cards. Think I'm going to check out gift cards.
-
I paid $500 on my cruise yesterday with my AmEx card, I was awarded the 12,500 points which according to my Amazon account is worth $84. I'll take it!

I have problems with my NCL assigned flight, and the front-line phone rep(s) are just "getting in the way". I need to talk directly to someone in the flight reservations dept.
This is the info on my reservation:

The offer for unlimited wi-fi upgrade for my Oct 2021 Alaska cruise just jumped from 49.93 to 84.93. I'm in the US.
Free At Sea, once on board?

If you decline the beverage package, you can always just "pay" by the drink onboard which will come out of your OBC. That's what we are doing with an upcoming cruise.
