Could be Wollongong or possibly Newcastle Geoff.

    Glen,

Just a hello from Larry & Darlene Hornstein. It has been some time we cruised together. I believe the first cruise was the 14 night Alaska cruise out of San Francisco.  Darlene says you gave her a baby Koala bear trinket which she still has.  Are you retired yet or still working for the transportation department in  Brisbane.  We are both now retired and moved to Florida and only about 85 miles away from Port Canaveral.  How is your daughter as you talked about her on that cruise.

  2. We are currently on a cruise ship but almost missed the “boat”. We were called to Guest Services after we boarded. Apparently our Moderna shot records on our Covid immunization card was missing the batch/lot number of the serum they used for one of our shots.  Luckily we had sailed on this ship a couple of weeks before, and they had copies of our paperwork showing we had already been cleared the first time on the ship. Otherwise, our Covid immunization card could have been determined to be “fake” and we might have been taken off the ship.

The solution to this problem is to contact  your local health department or pharmacy where you received your vaccination and get a printout that will show the lot number of the vaccine you took.  DO NOT alter your Covid vaccine card. Just attach the printout to your card.

This is very IMPORTANT.  We have no idea if this was a random check and we just hit the profile or they are checking everyone’s card.  Good luck.

We are trying to get confirmation from Celebrity that they will provide this for us. I would feel even more comfortable if someone posted their experience. 😎

They would test you if you had to fly home from the cruise so why not test you to go on an RCCL cruise. Or simply tell them you need the test to fly home.  Just go to customer relations day 2 or 3 and have them arrange a test date for the next next to last day and make sure you get a hard copy of the results.

  4. The Brillance leaves out of Tampa on Dec 24, 2021 for five night but that might be cutting it to close for you. I don’t know which airport you would fly out of but take a look at prices now or use RCG air 2sea program so that if the cruise is cancelled you will not have to pay air fare and if it’s put on your reservation you would not pay for it until final payment. However air 2 sea many not be the cheapest.

I have a friend on the ship right now.  They were able to have a few

hours in Coco Cay yesterday. It is a much needed break for those working

         on the ship right now.

Raising the bedframes so the stewards don't have to bend over so much.

    Thank you for the info.

Makes it easier to store your luggage underneath.

I was told don’t store your luggage under the bed so that if there are bed bugs you are less likely to bring it home with you. We have always managed the the two large suit cases and the two carryons in the closet. Any other small babes put them in the big suitcases.

They have a team onboard right now doing some cosmetic work. Changing all the carpeting in the guest staterooms and raising the bedframes. But not the major refurb that it was scheduled for.

Just curious where you were able to learn the above info.

  8. I hope Royal does not follow Celebrity. We don’t drink and if we have onboard credit it goes towards gratuities with the balance due going on our credit card and billed after the cruise. Here we would be paying the added cost 90 days before we even sail and where would we spend the onboard credit,  Junk from the royal gift shop. We only get one WiFi account if the cruise is longer than seven days and someday we will be pinnacle so WiFi would be free.

Pearl is the most basic level in the Blue Chip casino program, so they have you tracked as having wagered at least a dollar on slots (or $2 on video poker or 8 on table games) but less than $2500 in most recent annual rating period. It doesn't get you anything ( well except a possible invite to a "casino only event"...) Click here for more info. The next level up is kinda nice because you then don't get charged a processing fee for using credit in the casino.

Thanks for the update as I just noticed it when I did our paper work for the X-Press pass as we sail on the Eclipse March 10th.  The link you gave explained everything and we will never go above Pearl.

  10. Smart Cruise Tours reviews have been consistently bad - there are SEVERAL bad reviews here on Cruise Critic lately - including from myself and another group of 19 cruisers that they FORGOT ABOUT IN ROME!!

CAREFUL CAREFUL - you get what you pay for!! DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

    I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM!!

Read my review in my signature below for more specifics. I am NOT the only person this year complaining - they had lots of complaints last year and we didn't listen and now there are several complaints this year from various cruises!! They are all on here.

We used Smart cruise tours for five excursions in May while in on a cruise in the Mediterranean and they were terrific. They worked with us all the way to plan and accommodate the places we wanted to see but were not part of the set tour. We were a group of 4 on three excursions, a group of six on another and a group of seven on another. Guess you had a bad day. It really depends on how much you try to see in one day. If you squeeze too much in for one day you will be disappointed. Julia always let us know if were trying to plan too much for one day.

Funny that you say you read poor reviews. While we were researching tour operators we found good reviews. No tour company is perfect but there were a lot more good reviews than bad.

May you have better luck next time you plan excursions.

  11. We used Smartcruisetours.com a few weeks ago for five excursions and they were great except for one hic-cup and that was the fact that the Driver for Florence/Pisa spoke almost no English but Julia from Smartcruisetours immediately apologized for the error and would never use that driver again once she received my wife's email the same tour of the tour, in fact we were still on tour when she sent the email. We used them in Rome, Naples, Venice, Florence/Pisa and one other stop which escapes me at the moment . Julia is great to work with and will adapt the tour to your needs and desires. We found their prices to be better than any other tour group we checked out. I believe you will also find great reviews for them on Trip Advisor. Good Luck. In two tours we were a group of six and the others we were only a group of four. Hope this helps.
