If you have a fear of heights, then the space needle may not be the best choice for you.  This is a very recent Youtube video that you might find very helpful.

Yes, this is very helpful!  Hard pass on the level with the revolving floor!  🙂 but I think I would be fine going up.  Not sure the views appear to be worth the $$ but if its not crowded, I may go up just for the experience.

  2. I want to go to the Space Needle, not sure I want to go into the Space Needle.  I have a fear of heights.  I'm fine going up, but I was told the floor is now glass?  I don't think I could do that.  Is there any part of the floor that isn't glass, so I could see the view.  Would it even be worth the $$ to go inside?

  3. We are wanting to do the same thing.  Our party split over 2 cabins wants to switch.  We did this once before but didn't do it officially.  We just switched on our own, but it was annoying to swap out keys to get in the room and back to get on/off the ship and have purchases attached to the correct person etc.  This time I reached out to our TA to switch officially.  She said that they would charge us a name change fee if we did it now and suggested that we wait until we board.  I will go by guest services once we board and see if they will make it complicated to switch.  If so, we will just switch unofficially again.

  4. Our bid for our upcoming sailing on the Bliss was accepted yesterday.  I'm happy!  If I had purchased the same cabin at the time I booked it would have been 1800 (900pp) more.  My total bid $300 (150pp) was a lot of savings. The second cabin we booked was also upgraded (all the way forward the other cabin all the way aft).

We are veteran cruisers (#34 in 2 weeks).  We have had our bids accepted multiple cruises and different lines and now see this as a great way to save money and get a better cabin.  That said.....it really depends how picky you are.   We have sailed in the front and the back.  (I find the weather and ship size/age matter more with how rocky it might be if you are forward or aft)  We have sailed in an inside and in a balcony suite.  We have sailed in the lower decks and the higher decks, below the dining room and adjacent to the theater.  We have our preferences but can make most anything work for a week.  If you are such a cruiser....go for it.  If you are particular, you may not want to roll the dice.  I've been upgraded to a midship cabin in a more desirable location then what I gave up and I've also been upgraded to a cabin in a location that I probably wouldn't have selected if given a choice.  If you aren't comfortable with that possibility don't bid.

I tend to base my decision on whether to bid on other factors: Price. How much do I like the cabin I'm currently in? Do I need multiple cabins in proximity?  Do we have a lot of sea days/lengthy port times?  Is it a really long cruise (8+ plus)? Because those factors affect how much time we will spend in the cabin and how much of a sacrifice it might be if we get a cabin we are less than thrilled with.  Fortunately for us, we haven't regretted it yet and I expect we won't this cruise either.

Just looking for some updates from anyone returning from this past weeks cruise on the Wonder.

Capacity? Shows in full swing? Windjammer serve or self serve? Any comments on sound from the movie (read some complaints about how loud it was in Central Park)

My DW and I sail on April 1st. Any info would be appreciated.

We are on this sailing too. Have you joined the roll call for this sailing?

I have never seen anyone turned away at FLL.  And I've heard people mentioning that they are hours early.  Just line up and go with the flow.

I made reservations for the shows right after I got on board and I'm generally one of the first.  Got a paper copy from GS of the shows, circled the ones I wanted, and then used the app to reserve.  Posted the paper copy on my room wall with a magnet for viewing throughout the week.  Done in 10 minutes - tops.

Was on the WoS last week and will be again next week.

    Enjoy your cruise.

We are on the 4/1 sailing.  So I guess we will be taking your place. 🙂

  7. Hi,

Greetings fellow Atlantan! We will be on the Harmony next month.  I have a few questions. The low sodium dinner options for your parents....did they offer the same dining choices with less salt or did they give them completely different dining options?  I was toying with asking for the low salt diet but I don't want them to give me a salad every night! 🙂  You mentioned different places and things for unvaxxed guests.  I thought everyone had to be vaxxed except young kids? Was it really $100 for the Thrill park in Coco Cay? Did you notice whether there were taxi tours once you get off the ship?  Will we be required to take a ships tour now due to Covid?

  8. I just wanted to say I'm sorry.  I'm glad you made it home safe. That sounds super frustrating, and if plans changed leaving us in a country we didn't intend to be in.  I'd be peeved too.  Particularly with the shortage of international flights these days. I think it is likely Port Canaveral didn't want you guys there.  Were there any suspected Covid cases on board?  These are unprecedented times, however it does not appear that they did all they could to help.
