How does the Silent Disco work? Do you have to book? Do they run out of headphones? What sort of music choices do they have?

Not so bothered about our embarkation time but I would like to have my luggage before the ships sails. Does this happen or do you have to wait for it to come if you have a late boarding time? Would be tempted to dump cases early and go back to town . Trouble is we would have hand luggage on us.

Bad news then. Still slippery. Is a bit dodgy putting down a floor around a pool knowing it is slippery when wet. Most people wear flip flops as the deck is usually red hot when in the sun. I will have to be super careful and only tread on the dry bits. Will see how the adult pool is on Brittania.

Hello there. I was just wondering if anyone has found the decks slippery whilst wearing flip flops around the wet pool deck. I have had a few comedy moments before and nearly ending up in pain on deck. Was interested to know if others find it slippery or if those "croc" type shoes are less slippery. I wear them around the pool at my gym but that surface is not the same.

It's fun going under the bridge especially if you are on a bigger ship and you go up to the highest deck. Sometimes it looks like the funnel will touch it.

QM2 in the Med in June or September please. My perfect holiday. Not had this for a few years.

Lots of people wore Christmas jumpers in the daytime last year on Arcadia. All sorts of hats and antlers aswell. Go for it. Quite a few decorations on cabin doors. Very festive.

We did Arcadia last Christmas so not sure about children. I am sure they will have lots of fun things going on for them. Father Christmas was up on the funnel on Christmas Eve . All of the grown ups were excited to see him when he came down and walked around. We had carols on the deck and lots of people wore Christmas jumpers. The ship looked lovely and the crew built a big festive display in the atrium overnight as a surprise. Christmas Day was quite quiet- probably as no children and we had a gala dinner in the evening.

Sounds like you are sensible already. I would advise never using the lifts and always refuse the bread with dinner.

Take it home for a special friend. Cat sitter? I always save it for my sister. She seems to like it.

Not sure how much it is. Anyone got an upto date menu. Would like to try it but I don't eat much meat or fish. I'm not really fussy.. Not much.

Cruising for me means quite the opposite of regimentation. Yes we might go to the main restaurant each evening but you don't have to. There is more than one place to eat.
I feel I can do what I want when I want. I feel safe to wander on my own and husband does what he wants. Been on lots of ships and never felt crowded. As long as you are a reasonably sociable person then you should be ok. There's always something to talk about on a cruise.
No one will be judging on outfits either. Some nights chaps wear a suit and tie. No big deal. It's about more than the clothes.
Being at sea is so relaxing and I've seen some amazing things. I mainly cruise the Mediterranean so have seen dolphins and whales, golden sunsets and volcanoes glowing in the dark. You can get off in every port and there's usually time to see something new.
Every night it feels like a night out. We might have a cocktail or two before dinner or we might go to the pub. Whatever you do you -take a stroll on deck before going to bed. Fresh sea air good for sleeping. Get your partner to try it he might enjoy it.

We will visit the Lido and look for information. We have our wedding anniversary on board so maybe will book the Verandah. Nice to be outside in the evenings sometimes to watch sailaways or the sunset so early dinner required.

On our June cruise we are hoping to try some of the different evening dining options. Will we be able to find out at the start of the cruise what is on the different nights. I do remember seeing some menus posted onboard but can't remember if dates were listed. We have asked for late seating but depending on the ports it is nice to eat slightly earlier sometimes.

My sister just called. Should be back in the afternoon. They were eating lunch and the crockery and cutlery rattled on the tables. No explanation as to exact engine problem

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed the film very much on a very dull and grey afternoon. Although I have not done a crossing before I always enjoy the days at sea traveling down to Gibraltar or Barcelona. A very relaxing start to my holiday.

I agree that there are not as many trips from Southampton anymore. I feel very lucky to have cruised three times from Southampton on the QM2 to the Med. They are just not doing those anymore. After doing fly cruises with other lines for a few years we are back to Cunard this June on Elizabeth. I like to travel in June or September so this is my lucky year. Waiting to see next years schedule. June QM 2 would be amazing.
Fly cruises are ok but we feel we lose a day either end. Getting to the airport in the early hours of the morning. Yuck.

After going away for the first time at Christmas we were very happy with our trip on Arcadia last month. Did not mind the late dinner or the dressing up. It was a joy to be away from home. Santa arrived the previous afternoon and was mobbed on the deck by grown ups ! Christmas music was playing on all days and felt verity festive. We opened our presents in bed without having to worry about peeling potatoes. We enjoyed our dinner with our table mates. They were even serving sausages on sticks and other nibbles in the bars after dinner although we were too full to sample any.

These people were removed Sunday morning. Our friends were out late last night and the disco was stopped and security called as some thing else occurred. There are always going to be issues on these types of trip.
-
We had trouble in every bar, even trying to get wine in the dining room. The two night trips are very different to the longer trips.
-
I didn't see that for sale. Would have tried to buy one... But oh it was bad enough trying to buy a drink. The crew need some sales training and customer service skills.
-
Oops. Just found the story. Try Daily Echo. We were out dancing quite late but did not see anything although our friends said they stopped the disco early this morning as there was an incident.
-
We were onboard this weekend and had a super time. I have just had a message about "fighting" onboard from a friend. They said it was all over Facebook . Confused now.

Hi there Dave and Viv. I will be with you at Christmas. We have a roll call on the go. Look us up. Very happy to meet up for a festive drink on board .

I am looking forward to my 2nd April trip on the ‘new’ ship. First time on Marella but have sailed with its previous names. What sort of activities might there be? Gym classes or dance classes? Karaoke or themed parties? Thank you.
