  1. For the North Star, did you look under Activities in the cruise planner?

    First place I looked.

Update: I just looked again and now there are several activities that were not there the other day including the "Dreamworks Character Breakfast", "iFly", and now the "Northstar." All say they now have to be booked on ship. Maybe they were just down for a day while they locked everyone out or something?

  2. We are leaving out of Bayonne and live in NJ so it's not a far drive for us. I was just confused with the North Star reservations because even the Rock show is still listed, but it shows as sold out. The North Star however, is nowhere to be found at all.

We already have all our meals booked. I was able to do that a few weeks ago. We only booked the cruise about 3 months ago. This was a surprise for my wife's 40th birthday.

  3. Yep, several times. They never responded. Left several voicemails and emails. This was through BJs.

I see on the RC website it says to book the North Star via the Cruise Planner but I don't see it listed anywhere in the CP when I'm logged in.

  4. So we booked our cruise with a travel agent but that was the last we heard from them. I wasn't aware that a bunch of things had to be pre-booked (like dining, entertainment, etc). This is our first cruise in 10 years, it looks a lot has changed.

I just found out about booking entertainment so we missed the rock show but did get a ticket for the Cabaret. I was also told by someone who took a previous cruise on the Anthem to do a reservation for the North Star too. However, I don't see that anywhere on the site. How can I book a time in there?

  5. Hot stone massage or swedish.

People complain about the high prices on board cruise ship. However the prices are comparable full service spas at resorts. You can't compare the prices to a hair salon that offers massages or a place like Massage Envy.

I prebook massages as we like to get them the day after embarkation (hopefully a sea) to get in the totally relaxed mode quickly.

I booked one for her since it's her birthday. I'll see if I can grab a deal for myself once aboard and if not, no biggie.

  6. My wife and I are looking to go here on our August cruise. I see the one package that offered RT transportation is sold out. We'd prefer something that takes us directly there, is our only option a taxi? Do they do Uber or Lyft there? We want to be sure we're not late going back to the ship. CCR is $104 as others have said, is it worth the extra price vs EB (without transfer or lunch)?

  7. I know I figured out what ship you were on before you posted that info. What I am saying is that you are using the wrong app. You need to download the app called “Royal IQ” not the Roysl Caribbean app.

I grabbed that app as well once reading your post. I can't do anything since I'm not on the ship yet.

  8. Just checked the travel agents website. There is only 1 obstructed view guarantee available. Looks like you will have to make do with the cabin you were assigned. You could keep checking daily in the hopes that something appears however the ship is very close to being sold out.

(Appears only to be 10 cabins total left for the entire ship)

    Ok thank you Ken!

  9. You have your choice of traditional dining (fixed, early or late), or My Time Dining. What you had 10 years ago is what Royal now calls traditional dining.

Need ship, sailing date, and stateroom assignment to help with moving your stateroom.

With regard to the RC App, again, we need ship info.

Anthem of the Seas, August 18th, I'll PM you our stateroom. Thanks!

  10. I feel lost here. I booked a cruise for my wife for her 40th birthday. This is the first cruise we've been on in nearly 10 years. Last one was on Carnival. I booked through a BJs travel agent but he's been hit or miss to get a hold of. Have some questions that I could use some answers on.

    1) We're used to booking a dining time then eating with a group at a table. Is that not the case anymore on cruises? Do we book each day like a restaurant (or Disney)?

    2) In order to get a decent price, we took a risk on the obstructed balcony view. We didn't know at the time where our room would be. I finally got our cabin assignment and it's in the lower back of the ship. I do get seasick in rough waters so is there any chance of me changing to something midship?

    3) Lastly, I downloaded the RC app and logged in but it shows my reservation is greyed out and says it's not available yet in the app. How do I fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

  11. have you looked at celebrity out of Miami 11 august - 7 nights - key west, Cozumel, grand cayman, costa maya

celebrity getaway 7 nights 12th august

Unfortunately we cannot be away from our kids for that long. The cruise itself would be 7 days plus we'd have to tack on another 2 days for the before/after stay.

  12. Hi all, thanks for the responses. I didn't get notifications of reponses (other than the first) so I have not responded yet.

That is correct we are NOT taking the kids, this will be our first vacation alone in more than 10 years. I also agree with Cuba being a high interest destination but I also like saving money. This is also the first time we'll be away from your twins (2.5) so we also have to arrange care for them. I absolutely want a balcony room so I will start looking more and more into the Bermuda trip. Thanks all!

  13. Hi all! I'm starting to research a cruise for my wife's birthday in August. It's been around 15 years since our last cruise. I wanted to celebrate her 40th with a nice cruise. I wanted some suggestions/tips if possible. We still have young children so any cruises 7+ days are out. I'm looking mostly at 3-5 days in the Eastern or Western Caribbean. We're in NJ but the options out of Bayonne don't look so good right now. Willing to leave out of Florida since we have a local airport. I narrowed it down to these, but would also like other suggestions if you have any. We went on Carnival when we were younger and it was great but I'm looking for more of a relaxed atmosphere this time around. Now that Cuba is a destination we can go, that really interested me.
