We did the HAL Yukon/Denali land sea tour and it was great. We flew to Anchorage, caught the dome car with narrator to Denali then bused to Fairbanks. The nice part from there is they fly you to Dawson City from there. And even better was the entire 737 was just for our tour group of 40 people. It made what used to be a grueling bus ride into a short and pleasant flight. It was also very interesting to fly over the gold fields near Dawson City and see all the zig zag lines of trailings left behind.

 

From there we bused to Whitehorse, then to Frasier and caught the White Pass train to Skagway where we spent the night. That was a trip being in Skagway after all the ships pulled out. It was so nice with just a few people here and there.

 

From Skagway, we boarded the Niue Amsterdam and sailed for Glacier Bay, then to Ketchikan and down the inside passage to Vancouver where we disembarked.

 

It was a great trip!

We are doing similar trip late May early June any advice on excursions?

How did you find the service? We were on end of May right out of dry dock...service was not good neither was the food. How did you find it. We are looking at an Alaska cruise next year but it is Westerdam and I am hesitant due to our experience.

Thanks. I just look forward to a relaxing and dint want to have to worry about being formal for dinner! Especially after long day of site seeing.

Can anyone tell me....we are going on royal Princess in May. Want to know if you don't eat in the dining room for dining can you have a descent meal at the buffet? don't want to have to dress for dinner every night.....vacation is not having to dress up!

We also on Eurodam 4/21. What kind on temperature can we expect? and for first time visitors any suggestions?
