  1. Judi, I'm sorry to hear this but not surprised since that are taking weeks to respond to call or emails.

Hope our cruise paths cross again.

    Joan,

Don't know how Celebrity did it but the OBCR showed up tonight. Will help pay for our parking in MIA. Hope to see you again too. The only cruise we now have booked is the Edge on 4/3/19.

  2. Just boarded Equinox yesterday. They have no record of the promised OBC from Sky........ We brought our invoice with us in case of potential problems. A nice guest relations staff person promised to check with head office and let us know today or tomorrow. Wonder what Celebrity will do. Will let you know.

Update on day 4 of cruise. Customer relations on board has turned this over to shore people at Celebrity who have NOT been able to contact Sky....... either. They will keep trying but we've pretty much given up on this.

We've used this agency since early 2000's and had a good relationship. All downhill since Lori died. Our backup there, Non P, is also gone. We'll never call them again. A shame. How not to run a business.

  3. I live in Naples. Biggest problem would be that some of the major hotels on the beach were damaged and may not be taking reservations.. The rest of town is slowly getting back to normal. The Phil is now called Artis-Naples. . The Baker Museum attached is excellent. Another upscale shopping area is Mercado. The restaurants on 5th Avenue are up and running.

  4. An opposite opinion. We've been sailing Celebrity for 15 years and have seen food quality go down. We like to dine as a couple, not in a large table. We're on the Silhouette Transatlantic now and have eaten in specialty restaurants EVERY night. We bought a 14 night package before we sailed which made it around $24 per person per meal. We booked a regular balcony cabIn instead of suite (we were not happy with service in Luminae in November.). Tables in Aqua class are too close together. This package was less than we would have paid for a suite or Aqua Class.

We have had A DINING EXPERIENCE every night. Superb service, food prepared a la minute, special requests and off menu choices available.

    We would do this again.

  5. After the president's ban on people from several Middle Eastern nations entering the US, will this affect any Celebrity passengers? For example, if you have a green card or a student or H2 visa and leave the country, will you be allowed back? If I were from one of these countries, I'd be wary of leaving the US, even for a Caribbean vacation.

    What will Celebrity do?

  6. We were unhappy with Luminae on the Reflection Transatlantic and ended up going to Blu and specialty restaurants mostly for the second half of the cruise.

Service in Luminae was very poor - perhaps because of galley problems. Rarely were we able to eat our entres together. Often did not like choice of food and ordered from MDR menu. Don't plan to do suite again. We could get specialty package and save lots money.

  7. We were very disappointed with Luminae and finally gave up on it and ate at specialty restaurants and Blu. The menu is vey limited and we often couldn't find anything we liked and ordered from the MDR menu. Service was very slow. It seemed like there was a galley problem. Preparation of some dishes left much to be desired. Fish was dry, meat not cooked as requested- ordered rare, served well done. Rarely were DH and I able to eat main course together because of problems. Blu had much better breakfasts and better service all around. We spoke to Maitr'd twice as well as Food and Beverage manager.

Next cruise in Concierge cabin with Ultimate Dining Package and Premium Drink Package for les than 1/2 price of lowest level suite. I'll give up the extra room for an additional cruise.

  8. My advice depends on itinerary and length of cruise. When we are on a cruise longer than 10 days, we always go to at least one specialty restaurant, just for variety. My favorite is Lawn Club Grill for casual best steaks onboard or Murano for formal French classic dining, or Tuscan too for Italian Steakhouse.

We almost never take ship's excursions which are usually in large busses and spend time at unwanted shopping stops and are very expensive. We join up with others on our Roll Call to arrange private excursions with 6-8 people in a private van - you devise itinerary and these are much cheaper than ship's tours. We've NEVER worried about missing the ship- we plan to return to port at least an hour early. This holds for Europe as well as Caribbean.
