  1. Earlier in the thread someone said they wished they could access future cruises while on current cruise. Noticed yesterday that in the Princess app you can now toggle between booked cruises under profile > voyages, which you couldn't do before. Not sure if this is what you meant but is a new feature. If you select all will also show you your previous Medallion voyages.

I don't know what awful things you're hearing.  It's been great.  Food and service are excellent.  We don't do much with entertainment but enjoy the performer in Crooners. They have both ping pong and pickleball.

We are getting on Ruby in two weeks, wondering who the performer in Crooners is (or will be). Also the bartenders. Love running into staff from previous cruises.

  3. HI, we are on the Ruby in a couple of weeks, have done many cruises but never on the Ruby.  What is the 'Adagio'?  Deck plan shows it on the Sun deck next to Sabatini's.  Just wondering if you know if it is a restaurant or lounge?

    Thanks

  4. Many don't realize that when sailing Alaska out of Vancouver you are required to go through US Border and Customs during the embarkation processes which adds another line that you wouldn't experience if departing from a US port.  The declaration piece at customs is done via electronic terminals that scan you passport and do require some help if you haven't done it before which also slows down the process, as does the number of Customs officers available.

  5. My husband works at the Port of Vancouver checking in passengers.  There is no separate line up for Elite/Suite guests anymore for check in, everyone in the green or blue lane.  After check in there is priority boarding for Platinum, Elite and Suite, so you will board before others, but only after the check in lanes.  Captains Circle loyalty benefits does not only say 'priority boarding' and not check in under Platinum benefits.

I saw someone mention that they will charge you for one of them, if you order two drinks.

So I can't go up to the bar and get a drink for me and my wife as well? We both have to go?

Your reservations are linked so they will see both of you, and see that you both have the beverage package.  We have never (even pre medallion)  had any issue going to a bar and getting two drinks at the same time.

My family is also sailing on the 7

25 trip.  We just left port.  This is my first princess cruise.

Check in was easy and quick.  We picked up our medallions at the peir.  I figured my daughter's would like something different for their medallion tags, so I ordered air tag holders which hold the medallion, we will see how long they last.

Many of the bars don't have menus out. They have QR codes.

Here is the first day patter.  They are have some activities.

The medallion app is having issue and they are still working on them.

Don’t see any Crooners on the Patter. I know the Magestic wasn’t built with a Crooners due to target market but also read the the vip area in the the Casino may be converted? Wondering if there is a piano bar?

Anyone can order off the Kid's menu (available in main dining, specialty restaurants)  - the Volcano Sundae and Cruise Chips (ice cream and cookies, often assembled as an ice cream sandwich) are fantastic.

Carnival Corp Stockholders (own 100 shares or more) are eligible for OBC on Princess cruises, anywhere from $50-250 depending on length of cruise.

Military Veterans are eligible for OBC from Princess.

Princess allows you to "stack" OBC, you could have Stockholders, veterans, from TA, etc all on your booking.

Pub Lunch (serves anywhere from once to a couple times a cruise in a specialty venue) is free of charge..

Don't stand in the long line up for the pub lunch.  Go 30 minutes before the posted end time (usually about 1pm I think)  and you will most likely have little or no wait.  Food is precooked so it will come right away so 30 minutes is plenty.

  9. Our Princess planner advised that we should know before final payment.  Which makes sense as they are currently paying 10% in compensation of money paid for cancelled cruises which is considerable amount for World Cruise.

  10. Looking for honest opinions/comparisons of the 2022 and 2023 World Cruises as we currently have a deposit on both. As I don't fly I have never been to any of these destinations, so would like opinions on the two different itineraries from those who have.  I like the Australia/New Zealand portion of the 2023 but the Mediterranean portion of the 2022. All feedback on destinations and excursions would be welcome.

(realize that 2022 may not go and may have to get on a plane in event of emergency)

    Thanks

  11. On the Royal last year they had the 200ml bottles of Korbel or prosecco by the glass. I don't mind the Korbel and is a better deal. I would take one home unopened for morning mimosa. Can't get them on cruises out of Canada as I don't think they sell it here.

    Cheers

I swapped my elite minutes and then paid for  the unlimited package for one device. My husband used his elite minutes and after using them up we would just switch which device we were using the unlimited package on.

So, yes, I was using an internet package when trying to upload photos to cruise critic or use WhatsApp etc. While WhatsApp and Instagram could handle uploads even far south most of the time, uploads to cruise critic would fail every time until we were further north again. Pure text posts would work on cruise critic regardless of location.

Sorry if off topic but, how do you switch your Elite minutes?

    Thanks

    Helen

  13. Our last cruise which was our first Elite we got 8 mini bottles of liquor (2 Dewars, 2 vodka, 2 gin, 2 rum I think), 2 bottles regular water, 2 bottles perrier water and bunch of cans of pop (can't remember if 4 or 8 )also 2 beer.  You can switch the liquor for other kinds, we switched the bottles of liquor for 8 beer, not much selection we chose Heineken.  The pop was a mixture but you can swap for different kinds or water.  You could also switch all for pop/water and I understand that you can swap all for coffee card or bottle of wine but have no experience with that.

Call room service when you get in your room to switch, they will asked exactly which items you want them to take and exactly what you want them replaced with.  Will bring them same day, I think was within a few hours.
