There are usually no formalities when you leave the ship. You simply pick up your luggage and go on your way. On most of our cruises, the ship has been cleared in 20-30 minutes after the gangway is in place.
Keep in mind that many of the transfer companies (we like Romecabs) charge an extra fee for very early transfers (often pre 7am). And if you do arrange a very early transfer, what are you planning to do at 8 or 8:30am when most of Rome is still closed. You might want to consider a 7:30 or 8 transfer and give yourself time to enjoy your last breakfast on the ship.

We, too, are arriving at 5am and plan to use a shuttle. What would be a "safe" time to depart on a flight from Rome to Miami for that day? 12:40pm flight too early?

This is what they told me! Hello Samantha. We will be implementing a transition plan, which includes depleting current inventory, stocking new products, and also updating menus and other printed material. We expect PepsiCo products on board by January 2020. However, we ask all guests to please be patient during this transition as we will not be able to guarantee whether certain brands are on certain ships until we have completed the transition. Since we are not sure, you may want to cancel your order and bring your own sodas with you.
Thanks.

Process will vary ship to ship (and sometimes week to week), but it is usually very easy. Confirm with the service desk (a couple of days in so they're not too busy) that they're aware you're B2B. Normally the day before debarkation you'll get a letter asking you to meet in a certain room or area in the morning. When you meet have your ID and paperwork you'd need to board a cruise. They'll normally escort you off the ship, through customs, give you a new S&S card and bring you back on. The whole thing takes 10-15 minutes. Now comes the best part, for the next couple of hours you have a private cruise ship! You (and the few others) are the masters of your domain! Enjoy!
Can you go to your room after you go through customs and get a new S&S card, or have to wait until 1:30?

We did a B2B on Paradise, last Sept, a 4 day then a 5 day. We did get to keep the same cabin both legs. I agree, that is the way to go. Having to pack-up and move, would not be much fun.
Our cabin steward knew we would be in the same cabin for both legs.We were the only couple doing a B2B that trip. We got to sit comfortably in the atrium, and watch all the sad people leaving the ship. Once everyone was off, one of the women from GS came and escorted us off the ship and through customs. About a 20 to 30 minute process. Once back on board, the cruise director was waiting for us in the atrium.
They had a back drop screen, that said, We Love Our B2B Cruiser's. The girl from GS and the cruise director stood with us, and they snapped our picture. They gave us the photo, "free", if you can believe that one. lol. Got our new S&S cards, dinged in, and had the ship to ourselves for a couple of hours. I would love to do another B2B, anytime.
Are you allowed to go to your cabin after clearing customs and reboarding, or do you have to wait until 1:30 like everyone else, except Diamond, Platinums and FTTF?

What ship? You can email the maitred at XXmaitred@carnival.com.
Where XX is the ship code. I know most of them so if you post which ship I can tell you the actual code. Or if I miss it, you can search this board you will find all of the ship codes.
If you go this route, make sure to state your booking number, sailing date, dinning time and that you have a medical need.
We have reached out for a few requests in the past, and usually get an answer within a day or two of sending a request. They have always made sure to take care of anything I have asked for.

I need permission form, says our local Walgreens, to reprint a photo taken on our cruise last month. Is there a website to get this form?

Those are the discounted prices. We just sailed Oasis in May and the Ultimate package was $67 plus 18% gratuity.
If one of the two in a cabin want to buy the Select package, does the non drinker required to purchase one too?

Is there a divider between the aft wrap balcony and aft balcony that can be opened?

We did the sunset catamaran sail on our last cruise and it was wonderful!
As mentioned above, we sailed away from the HAL Ships (2) in port and got some wonderful photos both as we left and as we came back into port. The catamaran has a limit of the number of people and of course they like to be full- but it was great! the bar with rum punch, or beer, champagne and the snacks were the usual bar snacks. I would say you you would see the sunset better from the catamaran! Also, we had an awesome crew and music and everyone was dancing.....it was great!
Because of mobility issues, I have to wear shoes. Is this allowed on the sunset cruise? Last time on a catamaran in St. Thomas, it was barefoot only.

Our ship will be docked in St. Thomas from 1:00-9:00pm. Does anybody know of any really nice beaches there that are easy to get to? Also we are going to be there later in the afternoon. How long is the sky ride open till. I can't find the times on line.
Hours: Open daily 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and till 2 a.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays

Back in June my boyfriend and I took a cruise to the Bahamas on Carnival and loved it! We're now thinking of taking another cruise November 2014 but, we're unsure of when to book. Last time we booked 6 months in advance, which was plenty of time to book flights, plan excursions, etc. He thinks booking now, early January, is too soon. I think the sooner the better! When do you usually book your next cruise?

We booked our upcoming February cruise in March of 2012!

The best waiter for us has to be Icky on the Victory in Sept. 2009. He service was awesome and he had a great personality. He said he would be off the Victory that Nov. and wasn't sure where he was going. I wonder where he is now. He was the best.
We saw Icky in April '10 on the Carnival Dream working in the Crimson dining room. Looked to be very personable with his group of diners.
