Does anyone know if Vista docks or will dock closeby the town centre? I have heard that larger ships have to dock further away

Can anyone give me an approx price for how much this might cost on Vista June 2025

will be disembarking in Monaco in July and have a 12 30pm flight from Nice Airport. We're thinking about a private car to take us to the airport. I know the traffic is normally very bad so would leave about an hour and a half or more to get there. Can anyone recommend a company?

Will be docking here on Vista June 2025. Wondering if there are normally shuttles into the centre of town or is it walkable?

Can anyone recommend a car hire to take us from the Monaco dock to the airport in Nice. We have an early flight home to London and want to make our own way to the airport.
Thank you in advance for company names and email addresses

Must be a typo, there is no 1108. If 11008 you are up front under the Oceania Suites, take the room good location IMHO.
IF 11080, that is also a Primo Oceania Suite with great wrap around viewing and veranda. Yes under the TC but it should still be great although you could get a little noise in rough seas or something. That back corner suite sells out immediately and is highly desirable.
enjoy,Mauibabes
oops it was 11080. I think we have decided against it and will stick to a PH2 suite mid ship with only cabins above. But thank you for your prompt reply

I have been offered Suite 1108. I am concerned that the noise from the Terrace Grill above will be very noisy particularly early mornings. I don't want to spend all that money for a noisy and expensive suite.
HELP!

We are looking at OC Suites either 11008, 12006 or 12009. I am concerned they will all be noisy either under the Terrace Cafe or Horizons Cafe. I am not sure spending all that money and having a noisy suite is worth it. Any advice please?

We have the Oceania Suite 11080 for our sailing on Vista because we like the back of the ship better than the front as mentioned above. It has the wrap around. Way too windy in front unless you are in port.
I am currently looking at this suite for 2025. Was it very noisy being under the Terrace Cafe?

Currently on Explorer Tokyo to Tokyo. Did the three day precruise program in Tokyo.
Have yet to see a bathroom on a bus.
That said, the public bathrooms in Japan are among the cleanest in the world. Never feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
However, you may not find paper towels or dryers in every bathroom after you wash your hands. Thanks labonnevie & makai 7. Was happy to hear there were lots of bathroom stops.
Can we have any information about the precruise programme in Tokyo? Have only read one so far and it wasn't at all positive

We loved them all. Ate in Compass Rose most nights. Enjoyed Pacific Rim the once but went to Chartreuse twice as we liked it so much

I have been following all your posts about the cruise. Thank you so much I have enjoyed them all and it's been very useful. Can I ask a question please. Were there any toilets on the coaches? Something that always worries me.
Thanks for any advice

On board, have many things to say about this cruise- but abysmal internet service prevents me from commenting.
I will post details regarding how poorly this cruise compares to previous Regent experiences after I return home.
So very sorry to hear this and worrying as we are doing it in October and I was full of optimism. Will look out for your review when you are home

Flossie
thanks so much for your reviews about your land tour. I enjoyed reading it.
We too are from the UK so I wondered when you arrived in Tokyo did you manage to get an early check in at the hotel and also did you take your Covid Test before you left home? I know it's supposed to be 72hrs before you embark on Explorer. I'm trying to work out when to take ours with the overnight flight.
Hope you can help me out, thanks in advance

Flossie,
Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful thoughts and pictures. We are booked on the "Vibrant Tokyo" tour and will board the Explorer on April 11, 2023 Tokyo to Tokyo (Yokohama). Then we will spend one post-cruise night at the Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta.
Take good care.
Snackdaddy, hope you have a wonderful cruise next month. We have booked the "Vibrant Tokyo" tour for our cruise in October so will look forward to hearing all about it. Many thanks in advance

Definitely worth booking an extra night, ask your TA to do it and request the same room for the stay with Regent. We did this a few years ago for a cruise from Auckland - arrived at Hotel at 9:30 am after 25 hours of flying, had a shower, slept and when we came down to the lobby at about 3:00 pm there were still some Regent guests waiting for their room to be allocated.
Thanks for that I'll ask my cruise agent to get us a price

What normally happens when you arrive very early in the morning & Regent have booked your overnight hotel before boarding.? Does Regent organise early check ins or is the best thing to email the hotel personally?

We are on the April 25th Tokyo to Tokyo cruise with the pre-cruse tour of Tokyo. We will self-test before we leave the US. We will self-test again in Tokyo within the required timeframe. Or, we will visit a nearby Tokyo testing facility that the hotel recommended. We are comfortable with the risk that a negative test in Tokyo will impact the cruise.
Additionally, we will be getting an additional booster 30 days before travel. This process is no more demanding than what we experienced on our 2022 spring cruise to Alaska or our 2021 November Med cruise. Both of those trips required extensive testing. Covid is everywhere these days. If you are really concerned, check your insurance or rebook if possible.
Which hotel is that? We will be at The Tokyo Hilton in October

Techno123 thank you for this - it’s very reassuring ! The luxury hotel vibe with spa ,champagne lunches and sunbathing is more my idea of a good time than jigsaw puzzles and origami 🤪
I couldn't believe the origami session!

We are just transiting Haneda tomorrow received this from JAL on entry requirements for japan
Dear Customers,
*This email has been sent to customers with an upcoming reservation.
If you are on a waiting list, please confirm the JAL website for latest reservation status.
Thank you for choosing Japan Airlines.
Important: Please review this important travel information related to COVID-19 prevention measures prior to airport arrival.
■Notice: For Passengers Entering into Japan
Returnees and entrants must hold a vaccination certificate (3 doses) or a certificate of examination within 72 hours before departure to enter Japan.
In addition, temporary measures are currently being applied to those who are entering Japan from China.
Please be sure to check the JAL website page entitled “Notice to all passengers entering Japan.”
SO, it it correct that if you hold vaccination certificates (5 for us) and flying into Haneda you don't have to take a test 72 hours before departure to enter Japan?I think Regent are saying we can take a test at home ourselves as long as we have proof of a negative test?

Agreed.
Sette Mari for dinner is a full Italian menu with waiter service, there is an additional buffet with appetizers & desserts. Sette Mari fills up quickly when it opens so its important to get there early, second seating around 8. Daily Compass Rose & Sette Mari menus are posted on the TV so you can figure out which best suits your taste that evening. enjoy.
what time does the early sitting start?

Thank you so much for the really impressive review. Especially of interest to me as we will be taking our first Regent cruise(Splendor) around Spain in October & hopefully Explorer to Japan Oct 2023. Our 3rd attempt! Your review has made me even more excited.
My family started cruising back in the 1950’s when I was under 10. Not a big choice of cruise lines here in Europe. We sailed on Greek lines & P & O back then. Our cabins were below sea levels I think. I know it was very rough in The Bay of Biscay. There were always fancy dress evening near the end of the cruises. They were great fun & very popular. It seems a very very long time ago now
