  1. What do you suggest for our situation?  We disembark on Wednesday, October 25 probably by 8 or 8:30 am and will be going to our hotel in Rome not far from the Trevi Fountain.  Since we'll have luggage, it sounds like we shouldn't take a local train and try to deal with finding a place for our luggage on the train.  Can we get a train ticket that includes the bus from the port and also the train with reserved seats and luggage storage?  We should go to Roma Termini, correct?

  2. Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it in a search.  We are booked on Sirena in November to South America.   I've looked at the online deck plans of Sirena and don't see any laundry facilities for guests.  Are there any available or do we have to have to pay to have our laundry done by the ship?  Our cabin does not include the 3 free bags.

Not sure if it was because it was a selfie (so backwards) or not.

That happened to my husband and me on another cruise line also.  I think your explanation about it being backwards is probably correct.  Didn't think of that!

  4. Forgive me for asking, but I did a search of this forum and could not find an answer.  Does HAL offer a discount for veterans?  We've used the discount that Princess offers for their cruises, but I don't see anything for HAL.

    Thanks

I think you will find the Walgreens still offer antigen tests as well as NAAT tests.

You are correct.  But the antigen test is only done at a Walgreens about an hour away, whereas the NAAT test is done at several Walgreens within 15 minutes.  Hoping to not have to drive over 2 hours if I don't have to.  🙂

  6. I've searched the board, but cannot find an answer to this question.  Does Regent accept the results from a Rapid NAAT test if done at a pharmacy (Walgreen's) within the rquired 48 hours of check-in at the pier?  Their website says "Covid-19 PCR or Antigen test".  I can't find anywhere that defines exactly which types of tests fall within that category of Antigen test.  Has anyone used the Rapid NAAT test done at Walgreen's or another pharmacy?

  7. I didn't have the State menu problem with this site, but I have had it in the past, although I can't remember where.  It turned out that I was autofilling the spaces for name, address, etc. (as Chrome likes to do) and when I went back and manually entered the information, the state menu appeared.  Sigh ...

Also had trouble taking my husband's picture on the site - it wouldn't save it.  I uploaded one for me from my computer easily so I guess I'll do that for him too.  Can't get the Boarding Passes without it apparently.

As for the embarkation time, I was given the time of 12:30 (only choice) and we're on the GV.  I figure since we're being taken there from the hotel, I'm not worried about it.

  8. Not sure why anyone is talking about the Grand Arctic being cancelled.  Where is this rumor coming from?  The only problem ports were the 4 Russian ones and those have been rescheduled.   I agree it is odd that Helsinki excursions are not yet available for the GV group, but I'm not worried.  Experienced  cruisers know that "ship happens".

Sorry to hear this. We should have been on this cruise but a positive test stopped us in our tracks.

Was it your pre-cruise test that came back positive?  How was that handled?  Refund?  Any help with travel arrangements, etc??

If you want to keep more in the shower, i recommend one of those mesh bags with pouches with hooks to hang on the shower door.

Sounds like a good idea.  Would hooks designed to go over a shower rod work over the shower door?   Or would it be possible to hang something over the pipe where the shower head is?

I am definitely a happy camper.

We were happy to see this as well.  It was a real leap of faith to put down that final payment, but I'm glad we did now.  Fingers crossed all goes as planned - or at least mostly as planned!

  12. You can check to see if there's a Walgreens in the area that will test.  I don't think there are CVS stores in San Francisco.  The cost at CVS was $139 for the test that had results in 24-48 hours, which might be comparable at Walgreens.  Alternatively, you could get the home test, just make sure you follow the link from Princess so you get the correct test - the one with the medical monitoring.  It costs $69 for two tests.

  13. I noticed that Princess is now offering testing at the ports of San Francisco, Los Angeles and Ft. Lauderdale at the pier.  The cost is $100 charged to your onboard account and you need a reservation.  This has to be done within 10 days of your sailing.  I had appointments at a CVS, but have heard some horror stories, so I went ahead and booked tests for DH and myself.  The website is a little cranky, but I got it done.  Had trouble entering my address until I figured they wanted the complete address, including USA. Then it took a bit of time to load the possible locations, but there was our ship and date out of San Pedro.  You can register other family members on one account so the reservations included both of us in one booking.  Feeling better now that I don't have to worry about CVS cancelling or not getting the results to us in time.  It looked like they had about 25 tests open each half hour starting at 11:00 am.

You can find the link to the testing company in the FAQ's about Covid Testing requirements in the "will you offer testing at the terminal section" section.

  14. I'm trying to look at the EZair options for our upcoming cruise out of Los Angeles.  We live on the East Coast and Princess has our home address correct.  However, there is a notice on our booking that says "Air transportation is not needed for your cruise as determined by your home city."

OK, guess I'll see how much Uber or Lyft want for the 2,600 mile journey.  Should be reasonable, right? 😉

I waited 35 minutes on hold yesterday with Princess before giving up.

  15. Yes, we moved over to the 2022 Grand Arctic.  We're not convinced 2021 will actually sail, and even if it does, we're not sure we'll feel comfortable cruising yet.  And there may still be issues with the ports not allowing visitors.  I see it is all Waitlisted now; but not sure if that is because it is actually sold out or that they are no longer selling cabins in anticipation of cancelling as has been the case with past cancelled cruises.   Fingers crossed Regent is still in business in 2022!
