We docked at Taino Bay in Puerto Plata last month while on Celebrity Infinity. If you follow the sign to exit the port area, as soon as you leave the complex there will be men in bright yellow shirts. They are paid by the government to escort tourists around the city. Our guide spent close to 3 hours with us. We saw everything we wanted including the fort, umbrella street, the square , the pink street and more! There is no fee for their services but  of course a gratuity is much appreciated. He made sure we were safe and shared a lot of information about the island. A wonderful day and we got to spend it with a local. Really got a feel for the island.

HI do they have goverment issue ids or anything ?

  2. Hi so our RC cruise has a deluxe drink package sale buy one get one 50% off.  Works out to be 66.99 per person per day .

I don't think I will see it go much lower - I want to kind of get it now - even though cruise isn't until next June.  thoughts ?

Yes, I'm looking at the 9-night Liberty sailing in May 2023. Bermuda is new to us and we love Labadee but I'm not sure how I feel about the two stops in the Dominican Republic. I haven't really heard anything to wow me about those. Celebrity have a much more interesting itinerary a couple of days later but it's on the Summit, so more expensive and a much smaller ship. Now I'm in a quandary.

I with you - those two stops in Dominican are a not the best choices - nothing much to do there from what I could reserach.  - Wish they would have included St Marteen.   Ugghhh decisions ! Waiting so long to cruise and now these choices.

  4. I have a cruise booked for May - waiting to see what happens with the virus before i cancel. I know i will get a FCC - I found a replacement cruise that I would take next year. My question is - i want to do a refundable booking now with the minimum deposit to hold the room for the future cruise. . If i cancel my current cruise will I be able to use the FCC on the future cruise ? Wasn't sure if you had to do a new booking at the time you cancel the cruise or if you can apply it to cruise you already had booked for next year.

Thank Yo in Advance for any insight

Tried researching this but found some conflicting answers.  Plus, things change.  Hoping for some clarification / current info.

If I redeem my BOA Rewards for OBC, will it show up in My Cruise Planner to use on purchases (pre-cruise) for an upcoming January sailing?  Or is that OBC not accessible until I'm on board?

    Thanks in advance!

It will show up in your cruise planner a couple weeks prior to sailing. I forget exactly how close - but I was able to purchase drink packages with mine before our cruise in the past.  Then once onboard if you have more credit it will show up on your onboard account around day 2.

CALL.  I just called Crown & Anchor and was able to book the 9-night Caribbean/Bermuda run on Adventure of the Seas for Summer, 2020, out of Bayonne.  Also booked Freedom of the Seas, Southern route from San Juan, for November, 2020.  It's still not showing on their website for me, so I called and was able to book.  :)

Thank you I just called I did the same !

  7. Yes they do exist - they are down in front of the North Star Bar . It is 150.00 per day - I don't know where you reserve them or if that is just for one lounger. They overlook the pool and I did see Champagne on Ice in buckets next to the loungers.

  8. I just received our RCCL Visa card. Our cruise isn’t until next September, 2019. I was hoping to rack up enough points to earn OBC to pay for a couple of cruise excursions during their Black Friday sales. Now, you’re saying we won’t get the OBC until right before cruising?

I used them the last two years and received the OBC about 3 weeks prior to my cruise in the Cruise Planner. (and I cashed them in months in advance).
