Just found your Blog and just bing read though all 8 pages.    Happy you are posting as I need a fix before our next cruise

Your pictures bring back such fond memories.

Hi Jim...I want to thank you for the posting you did from the Equinox.  We head onto it on 10/29 in RS.  For this cruise we had relatives on-board, so all the posts were very helpful.  Next ship after Equinox will be the Beyond (as in bigger).

1,700 are booked on the TA… that’s what Future Cruises told us when we were on board. IF the TA happens…

I looked for it on Celebrity site and other re-sellers and there is no longer any mention of a TA in October for Apex.  It has the 10/3 cruise from Athens and next is 10/24 from Fort Lauderdale...and nothing to show how the ship gets back across the ocean.  Otherwise, I was looking to see about doing the TA given what I am seeing about the ship with reduced capacity.

Thanks for any info you can find from the Future Cruise Sales folks.

...We found the kitchen on EDGE, while excellent, to be very backed up at times,  waited an hr for our entrees!  They also counted the useles outdoor tables when calculating table capacity.  Never saw anyone out there.

No outdoor tables for BLU on M class,,,

We were on the EDGE with you, and a 1 hour wait for entrees was the short side. (It was 40 minutes for eggs in the AM too).  The kitchen does not have the capacity to handle the increased number of suites.  It was the only downside to the EDGE, and yes, the food itself was great and the ship is terrific.

We are booked on Millie for Jan 2020.

We have our rain gear and  dinner clothes in our carry on, all wrapped in plastic.  Even though BLU is never fussy ( but no shorts for dinner)  , we change for first night's  dinner, and on EDGE, we understand there is a Cap Club event in EDEN on the boarding night,  Our Sailaway has also been moved there as well.

Still looking forward to a great cruise...

See you Sunday...it is not bad to get from garage to Terminal 25.  When you drop your luggage, it is under cover.  It will be extremely rainy...making the abiliity to explore inside Edge all the better.

Marilyn, your reviews are just incredible.

Our VT family lands in FLL tomorrow so it’s a day in advance of sailing.  Flights may be back to normal tomorrow and more so on Sunday.

    thanks!

Welcome to Ft Lauderdale. Fabulous weather today. Our kids are skiing in Stowe at this moment. They said it was really cold and miserable.  They have a place at Topnotch, which has a nice heated pool and bar for apres ski.

Just think...it was 14 inches of snow today at Smuggs.

Cant wait for our next Sunday sailing.  Looking forward to your recommendations for guidance on things for us to do.  We are in S1 Starboard equal to where you are at mid ship.

Thanks for taking the time to write your review.

This cabin is an S1 and MC will go pass but from a distance.  Check out the deck plans by googling them.

Thanks so much.  I was able to watch the first sail-out on Wednesday from Fort Lauderdale, and have attached 3 pictures.

The ship is really neat, and different than any other I have seen.

Using the Starboard picture, and the deck plans from Celebrity site, I was able to see that the Magic Carpet will not come in front of the 10150 cabin.

The pictures show the bow, the starboard side with Magic Carpet, and then a full picture of the ship as it passed by.

Can't wait to be on it in January.

    Happy Holidays to all.

  7. This is from the Celebrity website:

"When you stay in a Sky Suite, you'll enjoy the luxury of personal butler service. This includes assistance with unpacking and packing, in-suite lunch and dinner service, and complimentary in-suite espresso and cappuccino from Café al Bacio. And to top it off, the private Luminae restaurant and an exclusive Michael's Club lounge with dedicated Concierge."

If this isn't the case, is there another concierge on board? I'll be sailing on Connie in March in an S1. It will be our first time sailing with X. I was looking at deck plans and noticed a concierge on deck 3. Is that for anyone on board who doesn't have access to Michael's Club, or is that for Concierge staterooms?

I don't even know if we'd need the service of a concierge, but it would be nice if there was some consistency from ship to ship.

First of all...there is a concierge in Michael's Club on Constellation, and he was very attentive.

As for the dining question - we loved Luminae, and ate all of our meals there - breakfasts, sea-day lunch, and dinners. Their printed menu is eclectic and has 4 choices in each category...but that's the printed menu. They would get anything specially prepared from MDR or Blu or even items from Tuscan. We had more of an emphasis on vegetarian choices for appetizers, and they had choices from all places each night for us to consider. The service was tops I've had on Celebrity. The atmosphere was much quieter than Blu (except equal on the last night when it was more crowded). It just feels more upscale.

The cost difference is made up of space, food, and other perks. The choice is for each person to choose.

  8. Wine-O, did I read that right/ Cigar smoking is allowed at the Sunset Bar? DW is allergic to mold and mildew, but as long as wdo not need to go through the casino for anything, that should not be an issue.

Actually the smoking is a problem. Also was on the 12/7-14 cruise, and overall it was terrific. BUT, the smoke and mildew smell is outside the shops on both 5 and 6. You can't walk anywhere on pool decks without getting the cigar smell due to the wind. Both of these bothered me.

On the other hand, the "Great Race" activity (aka Amazing Race type of thing) was really super.

Loved the Molecular Bar. Spent a lot of time there. Neat drinks, super bar tenders.

    Enjoy the ship.
