  1. Thanks in advance for anyone able to help me out with this. My husband and i are going on our honeymoon and trying to plan out our time. In San Juan we very much would like to go to El Yunque Rain Forest but we don't really enjoy excursions. So here are the questions we have, can we access El Yunque on our own or do we have to do a guided tour? What is the cost to enter El Yunque (is there one) and lastly, has anyone had issues renting a car in San Juan. We are looking to rent from Hertz since it is right at the cruise terminal.

:) I tried to search in ports of call but it looks like all those posts are really old too.

    Thanks again!

  2. So we're going on our honeymoon, Eastern Carribean on the Gem and we absolutely canNOT wait! We're the kind of couple that would prefer to go off on our own, we aren't much for schedules and must stay this long at this place blah blah blah. That being said, any suggestions for our ports of call?

    San Juan

    St. Thomas

    St. Maarten

    Tortola

I think we might suck it up for Tortola since we are there for such a short time and go on the excursion to the baths. We would love other things other places like hiking, kayaking, ziplining etc but not with a group, does this even exist?

    TIA!

  3. No idea why the price difference, but if you're looking to compare I've been on both. The dawn is a smaller ship and I love love love it! He breakaway is larger and full of people. It's fun but too many people for me. That being said the BA is the better boat for family with kids, a lot more activities for them. Any specific questions il happy to answer.

  4. My mother and her three sisters are staying In a Mini-suite on the gem. They booked the suite thinking it sleeps 4 and while it technically does she was just told that it's the pull out couch that sleeps two. They all would like their own beds which is why they booked this cabin to begin with.

  5. My fiancé and I will be taking our honeymoon next January and I already have a cruise certificate for deposit. Should I go ahead and book now or wait until I'm onboard the gem in April? Is this a price difference in other words? Will it save me anything to book onboard??
