Did you know that you can book your excursions online?  Just log into your account and follow the prompts.

Hi Dave, yes I did know that but I have some specific questions about the ship and port. Many thanks.

I keep hearing good stories about people working with PCC's with success, so i decided to try that for a cruise I want to book under the 3 Day Sale, mainly because I have to call someone anyway to use my FCD's

So, yesterday, I went onto the HAL website and requested a call from a PCC.  Got a confirmation form email stating my request was received.

It's now been 24 hours and no phone call.

Can anyone advise if this is ordinary, out of the ordinary?  Should I just phone the general reservations number and complete my booking that way?

    Thanks

Interesting, I thought it was just me. My first time going on a HAL cruise. I made my own reservations but I have a few questions and I wanted to add excursions. Let us know when they actually call you.

I will be sailing on a shorter cruise in the fall, this is a 2 night trip. Does anyone have the When & Where for trips out of Seattle or Vancouver? Many thanks in advance.

Checking in again.  Anyone have a When & Where for Vancouver and/or Seattle?  If you don't have a 2-nighter do you have something close?  Or if you have a link that will help, thanks.

  4. I'm so glad that worked out!!!

After several emails back-and-forth with no satisfactory response from HAL (I'm not sure how the TA's experience went) I had given up. I just received an email from my TA that HAL will come through with the OBC. It took a lot of time and effort but finally someone at HAL decided that it's in the Cruise Line's interest to make the customer happy. For me, it was a matter of fairness, not so much the $50 and I'm glad they did the right thing.

  5. I'm not talking about the single supplement of 100%. I understand and except that. I'm talking about the onboard credit that is "per cabin" except if you are solo and then HA feels they can cut it in half even though Solos are paying full price for the cabin.

I agree, I think you should be able to get the full on board credit. Now I need to go back and see what my travel agent offered me as I will be doing the same.

  6. I for one am glad you posted this. I've always loved buying photos on my cruises and hesitated because I figured there has to be a "trick". Thank you, thank you, thank you. I always think that people would get more business if they would divulge exactly what people would pay up front. Not scheming them.

I dont know if its ok to put this on here or not however, i am soooooo angry. we had a photo taken at one of the ordinary photo backdrops after dinner on the ship. the photographer then tells us they can do a photo session with us (myself, dh and our 4kids) for free. that we can make an appointment and they will go around the ship with us or on shore with us and take pics. sounds great right. well im thinking ok how much is this ....she says its free and you just pick out the ones you like if there arent any no harm done. well we did our shoot on the elegant night. we got a reminder in our room the morning of our shoot saying if we cancel it will cost us $90.00. this is not what she had told us but i had no intrest in canceling so thought went further. we did our shoot had a great time. looking so forward to seeing the pics we made our appoinment to see them. we are taken into a quiet empty bar and he returns with a book and the photos. the book is a great little book of the pics they put together and then also about 40 pages of pics. great loved them all!!! they were fantastic! then he hands us a little flyer with the pricing I about died. $499. for 10 pages. $1000. for the book and the next package was $1049. dont remember what that covered. We had no idea it come to that I figured it would be high but not that high. oh and also you had to buy a package to get any of the photos. one of our kids didnt go on the cruise so we didnt even have us all in them. I had a very hard time not buying them but im not spending over $1000 for photos. just a warning for anyone else out there that may get caught up im a moment had I been told a price before hand we would not have taken the pics at all.
  7. Yes it would be nice to learn some other topics like that, calligraphy sounds especially interesting for a sea day!

I had not known about this, but think it's great and will look forward to it on my first HAL cruise in May (Orthodox). It may influence my choice of HAL in the future.

.....I would be intrigued by an opportunity to attend introductions to them too, particularly on sea days when this could appeal to more people more than a slot machine or drink somewhere.

  8. Agreed. As such I wrote to express my gratitude yesterday. Thanks for sharing this letter earlier and sharing it again.

It's very reassuring to see so many HAL cruisers voicing their support and gratitude for the Cruise Ship Priest program. To insure that HAL and Apostleship of the Seas USA continue the program, here is some advice from 2 earlier Posts that bears repeating:

    Smooth sailing +++

  9. @Truluv - thanks for sharing your experience, it's very encouraging. I look forward to meeting people on my next cruise.

@Av8rix/Susan - what are 6-tops and 8-tops? Are these the numbers of people at a table?

@lazey1/Jane - so glad you started the thread! It is a GREAT thread, I think that knowing that HAL has opportunities for solo travelers is so great. I'll be going on another cruise with family on Royal Carib, but I don't think it will feel the same without the children. It may make me sad with all the "bells and whistles" on board.

@momatibn - thank you for the bartender tip!!
