How long ago did you take this tour?  The website you listed is a third-party booking agency that does not offer the tour itself, but like the cruise lines, books an excursion for you and charges the operator a commission.  The boat in the picture is the Adventure Bound, which went out of business two years ago.  The Allen Marine tour is currently the only way to get up to the Sawyer glaciers in Tracy Arm unless someone has started a new tour operation in Juneau this year.

    Last year.  Call them.

  2. We did a: small boat tour with this agency. It was amazing.  He got real close to the glacier, eat hot freash crab and drank delicious wine. We saw the Adventure Bound boat and it hold lots of people. If you want something intimate and more personal call these people. He also took us right up to the edge of some warter falls that dump into the Tracey Arm. I highly recommend them.

Not aware of any list, but you can generally go by the target market and in addition luxury/premium cruise lines often include gratuities in the base fare.

In the UK and Australian/NZ markets, included gratuities is the norm on ships based in those markets. Some of the American based cruise lines have tried to change the UK market to the US model, such as Carnival adding gratuities with P&O. It was a spectacular failure, so they had to revert to the British model of including in the base fare.

If you are a Brit or Aussie/NZ, most of the British based cruise lines have them included (exception being Fred Olsen), but the US based ships repositioning to Europe will not. In Australia/NZ, P&O Australia and the Princess ships that operate year-round will have them included.

PCL added grats to me last yr when I did the British Isles cruise out of Southampton

  4. Last month on HAL our ship arrived at 10.00 am. Everyone said you can’t see Tracey Arm. I did some digging and was able to go. It was a bit pricey so I recommend getting 2 more couples to share the cost. We had a private tour and it was amazing. He ate hot crab drank some yummy wine. It was amazing. He took us up to the many warter falls as well. It’s something I will never forget.  Here’s the link. You will need walk to the hotel get a cab to the dock then urber or cab back. Not a big deal for us.

We did a fabulous 12-night British Isles cruise last summer on board the Emerald Princess which included stops in Cobh, Ireland - Belfast, Ireland - Glasgow, Scotland - Inverness, Scotland, - Kirkwall, Scotland - Edinburgh, Scotland plus Guernsey, UK and Le Havre, France.

Princess is a terrific cruise line they have been doing the British Isles run for ages. This season the fairly new Regal Princess is doing the 12-night British Isles cruise.

We loved every minute of it and can't wait to go again.

I went on the same cruise last yr. You said it perfectly.

  6. My cruise ship arrives in Juneau at 10.00 am and leaves at 10.00 pm. The trip isn’t offered by the cruise line. I called Allen Marine & Adventure Bound can’t get a trip due to when we arrive. Does anyone else offer this trip? Thanks in advance.

  7. In August my wife and I did the British Isles cruise. We loved it. During the cruise our room stewards collected the passports for all passengers. They were returned a few days later. Has anyone ever had this happen and why would a cuiseline do this? I asked room steward who colaims he didn’t know.

    Thank you

  8. I’m hoping to take a taxi from Heathrow to my London hotel and then from the Southampton cruise port to Heathrow. I seldom make taxi reservations in advance. I don’t like being pinned to an exact pick up time. Are there lots of taxis at these locations or is it advisable to reserve in advance.  Thanks everybody.

  9. Hello to the group. I wanted to thank everyone in advance for reading my post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  On August 1 my wife and I are taking a cab from a London hotel to Southampton to board the Emerald Princess for  a 12 British Isles cruise.  I have a few questions. I’m fully vaccinated and boosted within 60 days of sailing.  (Pzifer). We arrive at Heathrow on July 29 from the US.

    1. Do I need a reservation for a Covid test at the dock? If so how does that process work?

    2. What is the latest I can be at the dock or be in line and still get a Covid test before boarding.

    3. Do I pay in GBP or visa for the test

Left over cash in your shipboard account is leftover obc, regardless of the currency.

If I put cash down on my acct, whether it be USD, CAD, AD, GBP or Euros, it becomes on board credit.

So if I deposit it in my onboard account PCL will convert it to OBC which can be used to casino table play?

  11. I’m sailing on the Emerald out of Southampton this August. I’m bringing GBP and Euros . In the event I have leftover cash on the last night of the sailing  can I use it for table play in the casino?  Thanks
