  1. See it has been awhile since this post, but I was just looking to book the shuttle to SeaTac. There is a 10:45 one that is more expensive, but would it be less stressful than worrying about making the 9:10? Years ago we booked the later one but were there at 9 and they took us anyway.  So I know it is doable, but just not sure we want to worry about delays in docking, immigration etc.  not to mention longer wait at SeaTac for red eye flight.

  2. A website that offers hotel packages that are inclusive including taxes. You have to choose the port if you want port transportation, or airport if you don't need transportation to the port.  The hotels listed all include free breakfast. Just type it in search and it should come up.

When we used them before out of Cape Liberty, they provided a taxi actually but now they use a car service

  3. Related to hotels for Cape Liberty: Trinity reservations has a nice selection of hotels with parking and port transportation. They don't use shuttles, but private car service. We are using Trinity reservations for a package, but was wondering if anyone knows what the Lyft/Uber approximate cost from airport hotels to the port? The package we looked at included two way and we only need one way to the port, flying back to Newark airport. The package includes a private car which would be nice, but too pricey considering we only need it one way. We are not usual users of ride shares so debating which to do. In an email, Trinity indicated they could credit us some, but wondered if Uber/Lyft would be more reasonable. They do have ones with just parking and airport transportation.

We are fine with the 1 day cruise charge returned to us. I would imagine there are lots on here that the 2 ports were the highlight of their cruise. But Royal had no choice but to cancel them as it would have made our trip North beginning Tuesday night very rough.

The seas are still rough and it’s very windy on the outside decks. So I imagine lots are spending that extra money back in the casino and shops!

    🤣

We should be back in Baltimore Friday morning in time to meet Nicole head on going South home.

Thanks for update.  Worried about my sister.  I followed on cruise mapper site and no ships around Bahamas.  Saw still rough seas for you though.

We are on the Nov 3 sailing out of Baltimore. We stopped at Charleston and then yesterday at Port Canaveral. We left there around 7:00 heading to Nassau. Sometime during dinner there was an announcement we would miss Nassau and Coco Cay and head back to Baltimore. So we will not be stopping at a foreign port. I imagine this has all been worked out with the Government officials!😀

My sister and husband in this. Thought maybe they would try for Bermuda as ship had been going there. Are you just hanging out at sea or just cutting cruise short?

  6. Anyone know why RCI Bermuda testing requirements are currently more restrictive than on the Bermuda travel authorization site? Especially since they have dropped testing on most other cruises? Any chance they change it? My unvaccinated granddaughter needs a pcr 3 days out but Bermuda says 4 days for pcr  or accepting 2 day antigen when accompanied by vaccinated parent. ( her dad refused consent for vaccination) No one within an hour of us guarantees pcr within 3 days although they say 1-3 days. 4 days would be better.  Walgreens in NJ that we checked are only taking appointments 3 days out, and charging close to $130. Daughter ok with paying rather than fight with the dad. We are driving to NJ on Friday so stressful wondering if we can make an appointment time. We knew about testing when we booked but didn’t have any idea free and/ or convenient testing would end. We are planning to use supervised antigen ourselves.

  7. Our travel agent found the same thing-with the 125% some is applied to reduce the actual cost of the cruise while the rest was listed under payment. So guessing the 25% is treated differently. So balance due was reduced by full amount of travel credit. Maybe if we cancel, we will only get the original credit? Since the price reduction doesn’t show as a payment.

I got the same email for our sailing in 3 weeks. From the FB group, it appears only people with kids 5-11 in their stateroom got them email. People with adult only parties did not.

I think this is to ensure that they are under the 5% before the sailing.

We do not have kids in our cabin, and my daughter had not gotten the email earlier this morning.  She may have by now but is at work.

Given that 75% of children in that age range are unvaccinated, that means approximately 300 unvaccinated kids, or 150 OVER the designated number.  What does RC do in that case?  This cruise is only 2.5 weeks away.  I am sure hoping that RC grandfathers in all unvaccinated kids in that age range who are already booked, since they've been telling us that unvaccinated kids CAN cruise through mid-April.

I certainly hope so.  When booking my daughter was told the vaccine and testing requirements—a little late to change it three weeks out. Affects us too as we were only going to help with the kids. Would we be refunded too? Not in same booking. We would feel awful either way, going without them or canceling.

Also: didn’t know about kids spring break-(knew colleges did)— as spring break in our state as well as in my daughter’s district is always around Easter.

I am confused - who is vaxxed and who isn't? Under 5 can't be vaxxed. The 12 yo is vaxxed. What exactly is the problem? Who are the 3 kids getting tested at the port?

All three boys have to be tested at the port (7,  5, 4) as well as pcr three days prior. Plus other 3 vaccinated need at least an antigen two days before.  I just feel bad with the logistics for her. Do they all go two days out and hope pcr is back, or half one day, half the next? She works in health care and just wanted to get away.
Only the two count toward the ships unvaccinated number.

Again she booked late and rooms were going fast(we got last inside), and maybe didn’t think through what testing would entail.  Hearing it is one thing but actually planning is something else.

I just want to get clarification that your email is in reference to a sailing 3 weeks out? I've seen some letters/emails on the Harmony Facebook page but we are about 50 days out and have received nothing.

Yes, cruise leaving March 17. We decided to go to help with the grandkids- stay on board with them in Cozumel, etc. It was kinda last minute booking or I would have pressed my daughter about vaccinating her two boys. Her 12 yr old is vaccinated and 4 yr old ineligible.  She is already sweating all the testing. 9 tests, including three at the port. They will lose their flight money if RCI cancels them or someone tests positive. For 6 people. We would debate whether to cancel as well. Would lose flight and portion of shuttle fee. Only have insurance on the cruise as it was a voucher from another cancelled trip. And including the flight would have cost us more than the cheap Spirit flights we got. We have hit the age where private insurance is more costly.

  12. Just received my future cruise credit today, which was expected Feb 4. Ended up paying for a last minute booked cruise myself Friday as final payment was due and my agent had been holding the reservation without a deposit waiting on the cruise credit. Didn’t want to lose the cruise. Luckily   I have a hold on another cruise to actually replace my Vision canceled one- my agent has been holding it over two weeks waiting on the credit.  And the extra 25% is going to cover the increase in price. So essentially it is a lift and shift for us. So with an agent you can hold cruises while waiting for the credit. RCI customer service maybe does it as well?

  13. My grandchildren are unvaccinated and we have to take a ship tour. One that sounds perfect (Reef Semi-sub)- just ride and look at fish- is for 12 and up despite listing child prices. Snorkeling generally age 6. One possibility is sold out. Would the ruins plus beach ones be too awful for 4 - 8 year old boys?

  14. Glad to not have to decide but double points on a 10 day sailing gone…..I was hoping for a RoyalUp on an uncrowded ship.   Cancelling flights only get me future credit.  And I am hesitant to try again.  This was a rebooked cruise from a canceled one- originally booked in June, canceled a month later-thinking surely things will get better.
And no similar itinerary that I can find next February.
