Are there any full suites available?

If so, its possible for an existing JS passenger to move to that freeing a JS.

I have seen one jr suite open occasionally (some days it is listed, others it is not)  and grand suite guarantee only. No other suites listed. I guess they do a good bit of moving around in the end.

We are on the sailing.  Do you recall when you received the email?  We usually  get the offers so I want to  go back to make sure I didn't miss the email.   We have a balcony guarantee so perhaps guarantee's are not part of the program.

I hope your bid is accepted.

Thanks and see you on board.

Just to help others trying to decide on Royal UP.  We just got word yesterday for our Nov. 3, 15 night TA on Brilliance we were upgraded from an interior room to Spacious Ocean View Balcony for the minimum bid (which was $250/person).  We were happy with our interior room location and price but thought if we got the balcony for that price would also be nice.  Happy to get the bid and to know this far in advance!

We just got the royal up email offering upgrades to Jr suite or Grand suite on our 11/18 Brilliance trip! It looks like there are no Jr suites available??? Why would they do this? There are many balconies still left ( which we currently have). Of course, we offered the minimum bid... doubt that we will get it though. It is still pretty far out for upgrades I think. 😏

  4. You will still have US Immigration procedures.

We still have to do customs at Vancouver airport as well as in Toronto? I thought if it was a domestic flight (vancouver to toronto) that we could skip that part. I know about the Canadian customs at the pier getting off the ship.

  5. Thanks Martin! Yes, we will have to make that first flight, but should be easier without the US Customs to do at the airport. Hopefully the security lines are not too long! We are used to TSA precheck when we fly in the USA... much shorter lines with that!

  6. We are going the opposite direction. We fly out of Vancouver, connect in Toronto, then on to Philadelphia. Am I correct that as long as we get both boarding passes when we check in at Vancouver, we will not have to collect our bags in Toronto? ( both legs are with Air Canada) We have a little less than two hours layover- is that enough time for customs and getting to our next gate?

  7. Thanks for the advice ! Everything was easy! One note- if you get a porter to help with bags at disembarcation/customs, they will take your bags directly to the loading zone of the parking garage. You drive your car right up to load the bags then exit the garage. Much easier than the driver having to go back in line and drive around to the other loading area.

  8. 1). You get a ticket when you go in the garage. When you return you pay at a machine with a credit card or cash (bills up to $50) and get an exit ticket to get out of the garage.

2). You can drop people and bags with porters at the terminal entrance and driver walks back.

3). On disembarkation it is not easy to swing back to pick up people and bags. Better to roll bags to the garage ground level (very close) and pick them up upon leaving the garage.

    Thanks!

  9. I have not been to Cape Liberty since the parking garage was built. What is the process? Do you pay going in or when you leave the garage on disembarcation day? Do they take credit cards? I assume its close enough to drop people and bags with porters then driver walks back to check in. And at disembarcation the driver gets the car then can swing back easily to pick up people and bags? Thanks for your help.

  10. I recommend that folks with respiratory issues proceed with caution booking this ship. The air quality was dusty in several venues and the cabin smelled like mildew or old cigarette smoke. I love RC, but had very much difficulty breathing during the May 23 cruise.

Maybe this will be adressed during dry-dock? Anyone know what they are planning to do during this? We are booked in March 2017

  11. I believe you can eat in the Park Café, a small soup/sandwich/salad station with some deserts; cookies brownies (best salad you will find on the ship) It is located inside the solarium, limited menu but everything is delicious. Always my favorite snack spot! Maybe I'll see you there.

Thanks ! I think we might try that! One week from tomorrow!!!!! I have eaten there before, but never on embarkation day.
