  1. When I called Princess to inquire for our June 15  Seattle roundtrip, I was told by their representative that we would have to check once on-board because they don't have that schedule but that it wouldn't be on the second day...Low and behold, if it weren't for these postings, we would have missed it because it IS on the second day which is a sea day.  It now appears in the Cruise Personalizer as an interactive link whereas 2 weeks ago, there was no way to schedule it.  Thanks again Cruise Critic for the REAL info! Our granddaughter (age 6) is  SO excited, so were are all going - can't say the grandparents are excited, but we'll take one for the team!

  2. to clarify - The cruise includes one night pre-cruise in Pittsburgh at the Renaissance Hotel...so the brochure is correct in that the vacation begins on July 15 in Pittsburgh but the actual embarkation is on Monday, July 16th. I'll try to wave to you

  3. We leave Pittsburgh at 5 PM - or at least that's what's on the schedule. I have no idea how long it will take to get to your spot on the shore at the locks. I'll certainly try to pass along your suggestion to play the calliope to the powers that be. Will look for you waving from the shore!

  4. You may want to look into StarVistaLive.com which is a specialty company focusing on dance and music themed cruises, sailing in the Caribbean using well-know company's ships (like Holland America). The next sailing is "Malt Shop Memories" in November. Others are Country Music, Soul Train, 70's Rock and Romance to name a few. Every day is packed with performances throughout the ship, not just the headliners at night. People are singing and dancing all day and night. (I am not a representative of this company ;-)

The American Queen Steamboat Company (NOT the American Cruise Line) has small lounges where people do dance and sing along with the piano player as well as a theater with evening performances. I have seen late night dancing after the late show in the theater which has a wood floor.

  5. We used http://www.tourist-shuttle.com/about-us Gal Efron as our private guide for 3 days in the Netherlands in 2013 prior to a business trip to Zurich. We had previously been to Amsterdam pre-cruise, so we wanted time in the countryside. He was wonderful! We stayed in Haarlem as opposed to the city and I had already done my homework on the towns and sites we wanted to see. He tweaked my itinerary and we were able to see so much. We would go back to the Netherlands in a heartbeat! If you are interested in more information on our itinerary, please email me at e.kessner1@verizon.net.
