The main port area and the beach look great. You’d be hard pressed to know anything happened. Jacks Shack also looked great.

The rest of the island is in rough shape. We rented a golf cart and basically drove the entire island. Downed power lines EVERYWHERE, I assume they were all dead but it was a little unnerving. Per the guy we rented from, they got power back 2 weeks ago. Houses completely destroyed. Everyone was extremely friendly but it was very sad to see the damage.

What was the company you rented the golf cart from? We have a reservation for one Dec 1 but have read in other threads that they are closed.

I'm just a little concerned, my reservation is Dec 1 and I haven't heard anything from them.

It was $4.00. Just go to the taxi stand behind the shops. We arranged for the same driver to pick us up after a couple of hours. They will call you a cab from Jack's if you don't pre-arrange pick-up.

We visited Altos de Chavon. It was nice for taking pictures. I don't know about the boat ride described since we had a different excursion in getting there that is not offered now.

We took a segway tour while in Aruba. It was a lot of fun.

My Husband and I did. We really enjoy riding them.

Did you walk down the beach to get to Jack's Shack? Are there beach chairs there?

We used our between time to spend time in the pool at the back of the ship. My hubby doesn't like to get in the pool with a lot of people. We had it all to ourselves for quite some time.
