It was time to explore our favorite area...the aquarium.  You'll walk to different rooms seeing different creatures and fish and excitement grows wondering what is around the corner.

There are some curious fish in here.

They have some VERY large display tanks...it kinda reminds me of the one we have here at our local zoo. I could spend hours just sitting and watching it.

The fish in the first picture to the right looks really mad at you for taking this picture. 🤣

Same thing happened to me. I inputted the amount I wanted to pay in Other Amount (the amount on the gift card) then inputted the gift card number and pin and click Apply. I click on Select in the Other Amount and a box appears indicating the amount of the gift card I am applying and how much is left to pay. I click on the box that shows I agree to the Terms and Conditions then click on Submit Payment. Try this and I bet you'll be good to go!

I did the same thing today when I was trying to pay off my cruise. Once I went back in and added them all again and then entered that amount into other and submitted that then it applied them. I also panicked at first because it said only 9 cards. I had 11 to apply. I just ended up having to do two payments lol.

  3. I would say as long as you aren't doing the really short cruises you'll be just fine. They tend to be the ones in the past that have received that reputation and from what I've heard and seen other lines have the same issue on those length trips.

Honestly though I've done a couple 3 & 4 day cruises and never had any issues or seen anything that I haven't seen in every other walk of life. End of the day I'm a firm believer in these trips are all what you choose to make of them. Go in happy and you will enjoy yourself, go in looking for issues and you will find them.

Somebody has to stand up to these bullies... That's the reason they are bullies, because they always get away with it. They just picked the wrong guy to mess with today. I may not be a physically imposing guy, but I DO have a "look" about me that says "maybe shouldn't mess with this one"... It sucks that things have to be that way in this day and age, but I'm a Libra, and I believe in fairness, and I'm willing to fight for it when pressed...

I'm right there with you. I try to be civil but I was raised to not take crap from anyone. I've had people run there mouth at me because I've called them out. My response is usually is the day and thing you really want to get your *** beat over? My wife says with that and the look I have on my face it usually does the trick. I'm a pretty level headed guy but there are just times when enough is enough and society seems to have lost their freaking minds lately. 🙂

Awesome review BTW, going to miss your writing. If you ever publish that book I will be ordering it.

Oh wow what a game! Just made it home. It’s been sleeting the majority of the way. Gotta grab the kids. I’ll post a recap tomorrow.

Was a good game on both sides. Your boy Mayfield should get a good payday out of his play now. IF your Buc's had not been playing my Lions I would have been rooting for your guys (became a fan from my years living there) but as a lifelong Lions fan I'm super happy that Same Old Lions are gone and this squad plays with some heart and as a team.

Could see that final INT killed Mayfield, I felt bad for him.

    There are several problems.

Will there be cameras? I guess it depends on the ship and their maintenance of cameras. When my wife was assaulted on Glory security said the only video was in the casino.

Then there is the question of what legal doctrine the ship is following. When in international waters U.S. law doesn't automatically apply and even if it did what state's law would apply?

In Georgia use of "fighting words" is justification for assault. If the group all say you called them some terribly offensive word or words then under Georgia law they may be considered justified in assaulting you even if it were all on video.

Some states still have a "duty to retreat." If you are able to leave and thereby end the assault you are required to do so. If, instead, you fight back you may be found guilty of assault.

English common law imposes a duty to retreat whenever it is safe.

The age of the aggressor can also come into play and different places have different laws in that regard. Europeans must retreat from children with guns for example.

Then, if you use language to put the fear of God into them, in some states you run the risk of civil liability for "verbal assault."

So I still say "just walk away."

If that's what everyone wants to do then so be it 🙂

Unfortunately these days that could get one in a lot of trouble. When minors are involved you are greatly limited and touching a hair on their head can lead to charges of child abuse. Someone stumbling upon the scene will only see an adult doing something to a child and may well jump in to defend the child when they would not jump in to defend an adult.  And when a group is involved you can count on them spewing lies; one person's word against 10.

Just leaving is the safest and most cost effective move unless circumstances/self preservation make that impossible. Is it justice? No. But we don't have justice; we have a system of justice. Those are completely different things and knowing which way the system leans can save one a lot of grief.

You don't have to lay a finger on someone to put the ever loving fear of god into them. Also there are cameras all over the ship and if they lay a finger on you it then becomes self defense.

As you said if you can walk away sometimes is the best bet but there are times when people just push too far. Now these types of people have made it so someone who loves cruising is over it and doesn't want to go on a cruise line again but these kids think they can do whatever they want whenever they want and no one will do anything about it.

Sad sad world we are in right now.

Kanyon 71 I LOVE everything about cruising except for the last day at sea. For some reason , which I have never been able to understand I am melancholy. It is the oddest thing, I wake up and after breakfast and a second cup of joe I am sad and just wish I was home. Weird I know but there it is.

    JGB

    9 days and definitely counting!!

I think it's the whole knowing it's over and if it's over then you may as well be back home. That whole it's only downhill from this point type of thing. One of these years my wife and I want to do a B2B, would be interesting on the last day of the first one to see if we feel the same way or not. 🙂

  9. My parents owned pawn shops for over 20 years. Based on them stating that every pawn in the US is required by many local, state AND Federal laws I am lead to believe that the laws may vary on how merchandise is treated if needing to be returned to someone but that all of them including the federal government requires every transaction to be logged (back when we first started by hand, now all done digitally) and sent to the police department. I do not remember how often we had to do this by hand (weekly or monthly) but now it's all nightly.

Now I'm sure you will get some sketchy ones that try to skirt the law but based on their years in the business most of the pawn shop owners where pretty good people and always worked with the law to get people their stuff back.

My parents always would either return the item to the person or at most return it with them paying us back what we paid for it.

As for the OP, I'm really sorry this happened to you, sucks that we live in a world where we always have to think someone is just waiting to rip us off. It seems to be getting worse and worse, between the people stealing stuff and those always trying to scam us via, Phone, Email, Text and so on.

  10. I had issues the last time I bought them for our last cruise. I ended up changing the credit card I was using and for some unknown reason that worked without an issue. I always use FireFox as my main browser BTW. I would suggest if you have any ad blockers on that you turn it off while using their site, they can cause issues also.

Then they should all be known as floating Walmarts.

My impression when people refer to the "Walmart of the seas", they are referring to the crowd who cruises on Carnival and not the employees.  In other words, the argument is that the "people of Carnival" are like the people you see in the "people of Walmart" pics.  I guess not wanting to be considered a person of Walmart is a form of elitism as well. However, my point was just that presumptively one has to have at least a little bit of disposable income to be able to book a cruise so most people on a cruise are middle class.

Also, what is wrong with shopping at Walmart?  Do yall have something against low, low prices? 🤣

What I find funny about them being called the Walmart of cruise lines is that in some nicer areas I've seen Bentley's, Porsche's, Lambo's and many other very nice and high end ends in their parking lots. To me it goes to show people of all walks of life shop at many different places INCLUDING Walmart and I would bet every single person making that comment has shopped Walmart many times in their life.

As for People of Walmart pics, all I can say is that type of stuff is becoming more common EVERYWHERE nowadays.

We can afford to cruise on any line we choose but have stuck with Carnival because they go where we want, we have NEVER had a bad cruise on them, we enjoy the night life, the food is always good and plentiful and everyone in our family always is able to find something they want. Our daughter has grown up sailing on Carnival and has progressed through the kids clubs and LOVES the water slides and pool areas.

We have looked at taking a Disney cruise for a while now but the cheap side of me can't get past the cost of a 7 day cruise in a balcony or suite. We looked at one for her birthday this year and for the 3 of us it was over double the cost of our 8 day Carnival cruise next year.

End of the day people should enjoy whatever cruise line's they like and just leave it at that, no need to look down at others. These things always remind me of a story a friend once told me. He was the GM at a Porsche dealer, one day a person came in dressed down in old sneakers, jean shorts and the like (term he said one of the sales people used looking homeless), well this sales person refused to help the person and tried to rush them out of the building since the didn't "BELONG". My friend took him to the side and laid into him about judging a book by it's color and assuming someone doesn't belong. A short time later after my friend the GM helped this person, the person left in a new Porsche 911 Turbo S. Sales person didn't get fired (friend believes in learning from your mistakes) but he felt pretty stupid from losing out on that commission.

Stepping on Ecstasy in 1993 and walking into my first Fantasy class atrium was one of the most mind blowing cruise experiences I’ve had to this day. Add to the fact that I was 14 and still had that childlike sense of wonder and awe cranked up to ten, I’ll never forget it.

hell, I remember being blown out of my socks that they parked a freakin’ BUS on the Holiday’s promenade deck

Both myself and my wife are still amazed and awestruck when we get to the ship, just looking at how big they are and how tiny it makes us feel. One of our favorite things is the initial walk from the cruise terminal on to the ship and seeing the entry, we start smiling as we are walking through the arms and once we take that first step onto the ship it's all smiles. That IT'S VACATION TIME wave just sweeps over us.

I found an old picture a while back from my first cruise, my best friend and I were sitting on the huge anchor that used to be right at the old part of the port going into Cozumel back when Carlos and Charlies was right across the street in the early/mid 90's and you had to take the tender to shore before the new port and all the piers.

I have to admit I love the new huge ships but I REALLY miss the huge grand atrium's. It's one of the things that really got me the very first time I stepped onto a cruise ship when I was young. Just the WHOA feeling about how huge and open this area felt and realizing this was at sea. It was one of the major things that drew me in and is still one of the things that has kept me cruising all these years. Now everything in on that scale but still a killer view I always have to visit when on those ships.
