  1. Sansterre,

We were among the last groups to disembark, but from the time we stepped on the gangway to getting our cab to the airport, it was not more than 15 mintues. Crazy. No health check, no lines.  San Diego airport on a Saturday early afternoon was quick and crowds were small.  Security was maybe 5-10 minutes.

  2. My wife and I were on this cruise as well and had a wonderful trip. This was our first Mexico/Pacific trip and enjoyed the port calls very much.  We were very lucky to have been able to fit this cruise in without being affected by the suspension of all sailings. And although the ship was not crowded, the crew spent a lot of time and effort keeping everything spotless and staying positive in a very challenging situation.  I hope for their sake this shutdown does not last long.

  3. Thanks for the comments everyone. Frankly the reason I avoid polo shirts is that I don't like the way I look in them, being a bit overweight. While I don't generally dislike the more formal look, I prefer to be comfortable during the day and that means shorts/t-shirts. I understand there are many that go on lux cruises with the idea all around them will be dressed nicely. To me, a vacation should mean I don't have to adhere to others' standards... just enjoy myself. I do appreciate the feedback though. I may well just fly back to Anegada instead and hang out on the beach in my tshirt and shorts. ;)

  4. Hello everyone,

I've read several threads about the dress code for the evening and those are self explanatory.

My question is this - are (nice) t-shirts and shorts (even cargo shorts) appropriate for men to

wear during the day when going to one of the dining venues or lounges? I've always dressed

this way during the day on other cruises (Holland America, Princess, etc). While we would like to

treat ourselves to a luxury cruise such as Seabourn the idea of having to wear a polo shirt

during the daytime hours doesn't appeal to me. Appreciate comments, I simply want to

have a realistic idea of what is expected.

  5. Hello all,

My wife and I are visiting Belize on a cruise in mid February, and would like to get up to Ambergris/San Pedro via air. The ship sails at 5, so the last tender is probably going to be around 4pm I'd think.

Has anyone here done something similar, and how much time did you have to build into the return trip in order to have sufficient time for the tender back to the ship?

    Thanks!

    Steve

  6. I am on the Carnival Glory calling Belize in mid-February and am thinking of flying out of Belize Municipal to San Pedro. Seems easy enough, my question is what sort of buffer should I plan for the tender to/from the ship? I believe we're scheduled to sail at 5pm, so I'm guessing 4pm is going to be the final/final tender?

Also, any suggestions on what to see & do on Ambergris?

    Thanks!

    Steve
