  1. hang your checked breakfast menu on your door the night before...no charge for most items including coffee which is almost undrinkable and we stopped ordering it...

We get room service every morning! My favorite indulgence of cruising. But always Oder tea along with coffee...water used to delete the horrible coffee!!

  2. Hi all, I started another thread with query re the Ocean Medallion. But all good and glad to hear many are having success.

My TA was refused on my behalf and suggested I call myself, so I did. Well now...first I got a sales rep. who wasn’t overly friendly but that’s ok, just wanted an answers. There were many uncomfortable pauses, at times I thought we were disconnected, but I was very polite and waited her out. She finally agreed to transfer me to Customer Relations. Night and day regarding the attitude of rep. I pleaded my case, was put into on hold couple of times, then finally she says because I used a TA I cannot request this. My TA must on my behalf, oh lord. I explained she had tried,

So, finally she says she will put in call or email to my TA. That’s where it stands. So expect this is going to take few days.

I am actually now very curious as how this will play out. The lack of consistency is not impressive. I might add I spent considerable time, chatting to reps and on hold. No 15 minute call. A little disappointing how this seems to be handled. I will definitely come back and let our Cc group know of my outcome. Fingers crossed.

Call Princess.... ***** extension is 13099

    Good luck.

  3. I did not find them as being worn out. Just very stiff, small and not something comforting to the skin unless they are towels with a built in loofah function:)

I told the steward that they stocked our bath towels with bath mats by accident. He replaced them with the same thing. I though that maybe someone at corporate accidentally order half a million bath mats rather than bath towels

Our last cruise on Royal....my neck actually bled in a spot because the towel was so stiff!!

  4. Well done! The price has also fallen on my December cruise and I was thinking it would be useless to ask for the reduction, but now I might just give it a try.

I called this morning.....and got free gratuities. Thank you all!!

Just to clear things up so you fully understand. When the ship returns to Ft. Lauderdale all passengers that are continuing on will have to go through immigration and Customs. This is a single officer, it isn’t two separate stops. Leave all luggage and personal stuff in your cabin just like any other day. You bring your passport and Customs declaration with you. Over the last two to three years we were required to complete the U.S. Customs declaration on turn around day. Since we are not actually importing anything we just fill out the form with zero dollars. You will have two choices:

    • Remain on the ship. If you choose this option you will report to the designated on board location, usually the theater, not later than the time indicated. When you enter the theater you are scanned off the ship. In Ft. Lauderdale the officer normally comes on board after every other passenger has disembarked, usually around 10:30 or 11:00. You then walk through the immigration process and are scanned back onto the ship. Sometimes the officer does not come on board. In that case a staff member will walk the entire group to the terminal and through immigration.
    • You can disembark the ship any time after the disembarkation process has begun. You go through immigration. You are then free to explore Ft. Lauderdale, go shopping for wine, or whatever. You can re-embark anytime after embarkation has begun, usually around noon. In this case don’t forget your intransit card.

We have done it both ways. If your ship is at pier 2 it isan easy walk down SE 17th Stto Publix and Total Wine. When we leave the ship we do so just before finalcall to disembark. The immigration lines are shorter. We take a nice walk andpurchase what we need. We then return right around noon.Once through security you allowed right back on the ship. Just show them your intransit card.

We did a b2b in Ft Lauderdale last January on Royal. NEVER again! We all were herded off the ship and then had to sit in the hot building for about 2 hrs! When people started complaining, princess finally brought out bottles of water. It was a terrible experience.

  6. I traveled on Homes Lines in the 1970's. They would lay my nightgown out on the bed at night time. We would hid our night gowns just to see if he would find it. And yes, he all ways found it.

oh yes, I did too! Now it's become politically incorrect for them to do that....so I enjoy the towel animals instead! 😀😀

  7. I'm going on my first Princess cruise next year, and the pickiness and attitude of some people is very discouraging. I go on a cruise to enjoy myself, not hearing bitching about something so petty as a towel animal.

Totally agree!! You're my kind of cruiser!!

  8. Come on people....this is your vacation...a time for the unexpected and frivolous! I love the fact the the cabin Stewart does this for us...trying to make our day special. I actually miss the OLE days, when my nightgown was placed so pretty on the bed!!

In January, on the Royal...we had a couple animals, and we laughed every night when we saw them.

  9. After at least 2 cruises, you told us you would never cruise on princess again.

I would be happy to post the link, if you would like.

    Not a very nice Post.

I too, in January after a very bad Royal cruise, said I would never cruise Princess again....but, I am booked in December. I don't have to explain to you or anyone else!

  10. Such a shame...I used to ALWAYS have a cruise booked in advance....have one for December...but now don't want to book another in advance because of deposit penalty.

Never took advantage of the system...just want to,get my special cabin. .. but they've taken the fun out of it.

  11. We will be in port in San Juan in December from 8 a.m until midnight.

The Observatory is around 2 hrs away. Has anyone taken a cab there?

Our plan is to get cab at port and drive to observatory, then have enough time to walk around Old San Juan upon our return.

Has anyone done this with a cab, on their own?

    Thank you.

  12. I received a survey request last week to indicate the type of holder[3] I would like, along with how low and high a cost I was willing to pay plus a comment section-I indicated a low of $2.00 to a high of $10:D

I am booked for Dec. cruise....should I expect a survey?
