  1. Thanks for the replies. On the app for the current Anthem cruise (today's date), nothing is listed for entertainment either, except Spectra.  And nothing except Ripcord, Flowrider, and Northstar, and cupcakes/sushi making.  Is there a place on the app to see the complete cruise "daily:"/cruise "compass"?  Or whatever RCCL calls it...

  2. Sailing on Anthem on March 31st.  Curious about any recent cruisers' experiences...

I haven't seen any mention of the bumper cars on any threads.  Are these running?  If not, what else happens in that space on the ship?

Also, the only shows available for reservations are SPECTERA CABARET.  Absolutely nothing is listed (either online or in the app) for reservation of shows.  What has been the procedure for getting in to these productions each night?

    Thanks.

  3. I have a similar question about embarkation times for CAPE LIBERTY in Bayone NJ port.  The earliest check-in available was 12:30-1, and the ship departs at 3pm. (I checked in online on the first day it became available to do so...)

I would certainly like to arrive at the pier much earlier (around 11AM).  I know in the past the embarkation times were not checked, but have not cruised out of Bayonne in a few years.  Does anyone have CURRENT info on whether the port staff check the boarding times on your paperwork?

    Thanks.

  4. I called RCCL 2 days ago to ask this exact question regarding a sold out excursion and was told they do NOT keep unsold spots available upon boarding the ship.  But they said you can email the excursion dept at shorex@rccl.com  and request that they open up spots for you.   It could work.

  5. In response to @jumpjump, the provided soda cups do not seal.  As per another's suggestion, you can bring your own sealable cup.  You will need your RCCL soda cup however to work the machines, as your cup from home will not work for the soda machines.  (Unless things have changed since my prior RCCL cruise about 18 months ago).  Then you can put the empty RCCL cup and your personal sealed cup into your bag.

  6. Yes, the senior discount was being offered a few days ago for my cruise BEV PKGE (different from the booking of my cruise at a senior rate)

In fact, I tried to get the senior discount for my daughter's cabin Deluxe Beverage Package also, but they said they did not qualify because they were not seniors.  It did save me about $85 for my individual package cost.

I don't know if the senior discount is still being offered but for those of you who are interested I hope it is.

  7. We are going on the Anthem in 2024 and wanted the bev. pckg to try all the wonderful drinks.  There is a discount now for seniors.  I looked at the menus and most of the mixed drinks are about $14 in all the bars.  The Deluxe bev pckg that they are advertising now has this at the bottom:  Deluxe Beverage Package includes any single beverage item with a value ofup to $12 for select ships and sail dates.

Does this mean that most of those cocktails will have an upcharge?

  8. I was on a night snorkel in Bermuda about 10 years ago, that went with a dive operation that was located on the beach at Snorkel Park.  Pretty sure this operation is no longer there.

However, if you find an operator that runs these tours, I can tell you ours was amazing.  We had lights on our heads of course, so you could see underwater.  We saw a huge variety of sealife, including cuttlefish and a sleeping octopus!

  9. My cruise is now upcoming in March 2022!  Just wanted to see if the laundry specials are currently still available during this COVID time with the crazy new sailing rules and problems.  Same charter cruise, just different year.  I would imagine the prices might be higher, but if anyone has sailed recently on HAL it would be great to know if the laundry specials are still being offered, as it will determine how much I pack.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. Sorry to have left off my response to Mary229 above.  I think insurance only reimburses a small amount per test (I think I remember about $15?---Don't quote me on that!  LOL)

The Binax Now at home tests are about $35 each and in NYC where I live, the regular at home tests which are not good for travel because not "Observed" are about $25 apiece.  Certainly any reimbursement is better than none however.

And I, of course, purchased mine about 2 weeks before the law went into effect so I won't be reimbursed anything!

  11. Turquoisewater, thank you for that info and link.  I have just emailed Abbott with a question as to why my boxes were not included.  I ordered them on Dec 28th and their letter is dated Jan 22!  I also asked them in the email if anything could be done.  I got tests that expire early Nov. 2022, so basically 11 months after my lot 174292 was produced.  I would really appreciate the extra 4 months of expiration time.

As many here know, Nieuw Amsterdam is serving as the HAL hospital/quarantine ship for the Port Everglades operational area. It has been reported that over 400 crew from multiple CCL ships are onboard in quarantine. But, since HAL will not discuss this, who knows?

I did not know this, and I am booked on a full charter on the NA in early March.  Where is this hospital ship info posted?  Thanks, in advance, for the info.
