I was thinking the same thing. Suitcases are delivered all day, sitting in the hall. Unless there are valuables, I would leave mine. How is it any different than having suitcases delivered to the room? In fact, thank you for saying this. I will attach extra luggage tags to my carry ons, just in case there is a problem. I only plan to have my wine, my swimsuit, and a few clothes in there. It's not like I would leave my money and passports!
I agree! I think this is a fantastic idea! I hate carrying around my luggage.

On Liberty last week we mentioned the savory bites the first night, and every night after that they were brought to the table without us asking.
What are the savory bites?

How were the beds on the Liberty? I hear the mattresses are really uncomfortable and way too firm. Did you find that?

My last few sailings I've stuck with pretty traditional drinks...tequila sunrise or mimosas in the morning, switching to a frozen drink (i.e., Miami Vice, BBC, or DOD) in the afternoon, maybe a vodka martini before dinner, then onto champagne or wine with dinner, with Baileys rocks or a White Russian after dinner.
You’re speaking my language!
Can’t wait to put my drink package to use this July on the Liberty!
-
Yeah .. that’s what I’m thinking.. an hour or so. Ugh. It’s all part of it though! Still on a cruise, so I can’t complain!

I’ve heard if you don’t have a shore excursion with Royal it takes a long time to get off the ship because of tendering.
In your experience, what time was the average people without an excursion got on the island in Grand Caymen?

Yes, I believe you can.

My husband and I are heading on the Liberty in July and we both have the drink package and I love seeing all the different drinks offered! Excited for this review!

Theres likely an event called dancing under the stars, normally around 1030, 11pm. In the cruise compass it may be listed as an evening activity rather than under the music and dancing section.
You may also have a second sail away party on your next to last day, in the evening after leaving your last port.
Good to know. Thanks!

We’re heading to the Caribbean on the Liberty this summer. I was looking at the Cruise Compass and I didn’t see any deck parties. All the past cruises I’ve been on (different cruise lines) they have always had at least one deck party. Does Royal not do deck parties - other than sailaway?

We’re cruising on the Liberty this summer and interested in possibly doing the mystery dinner. Which night do they offer the mystery dinner?
Thanks!

How many times do they offer the mystery dinner on the cruise? Also, what nights of the cruise are they and how much is it?
Thanks!

I’m ready to book my flights for my cruise in July out of Galveston.
I know Galveston has fog issues. Do I need to worry about that in July?
I’m trying to figure out if I should book a late flight going home. Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks!

I would wait until in the 40's. You can always cancel and buy if price drops
Yeah I think I want to wait and see if it will drop!

Harbor House and Tremont House are the only two hotels close to the cruise terminal. The Tremont House is beautiful. Both hotels are a short stroll to the Strand shops, bars, restaurants, and cruise terminal.
Some of my favorite Strand area bars and restaurants (near cruise terminal):
Bubba's on the Strand and Sharkey's Tavern located a few blocks from the Strand on 25th Street both offer good drinks and live music. Stuttgarden offers German food and a great craft beer selection. Fisherman's Wharf on Harborside Drive has a great Happy Hour food/drink menu served only at the bar Mon-Fri 11 AM-7 PM. ($5-$6 apps, $3 domestics/$4 imports, $4 well drinks). Hubcap Grill on the Strand serves great burgers. Tsunami is a great little tequila bar on the Strand with a lot of drink specials. Brews Brothers on the Strand has good food and craft beer. Huli Huli Hut on 19th Street is a fun place to eat and drink. Murphy's Pub serves good bar food and has a huge selection of beer. Gumbo Bar on Post Office Street has good Louisiana food. Nearby on Post Office Street is the Saltwater Grill. Can get pricey, but also has a very good Sun-Fri Happy Hour on drinks/food from 5 PM - 7 PM at the bar only.
Jimmy's on the Pier (9001 Seawall Blvd) can be fun if you are in the mood to eat out over the water. Average food, but a great view.
Requiring a drive from the Strand area: Farley Girls Cafe (801 Post Office) and Mosquito Cafe (628 14th Street) are both great with delicious menus.
I am pretty familiar with every hole in the wall restaurant and bar on the island. Feel free to ask a question if you need more information. Galveston has a great vibe if you know where to go.
Great info! Thank you!

We just booked our cruise for this upcoming July and would like to purchase the deluxe drink package. I was just wondering if we should wait and see if the price drops or will it always stay the same ($55/day)?
Do they ever have sales on the drink packages?
-
Thank you!
Can any of you also recommend a nice hotel close to the port?

We are flying in a day early for our cruise in July and will have the day in Galveston. Any recommendations of things to do, places to eat and drink?
Any suggestions welcomed! Thanks!

Question- thinking of taking a cruise out of Galveston in July. I know fog is a big issue... but I shouldn’t run into that problem during the summer season, right?

No worries! We were on the Sunshine two years ago and there were 2 hurricanes in our path. The Captain sailed around both and we only had about 5-10 minutes of rain total in 8 days. It was AWESOME & AMAZING! =)
Makes me feel so much better! I want sunny weather!!

We're going on the Glory leaving from Miami to PR, HMC, St. Thomas and Grand Turk on July 8th (this Saturday!). If this thing turns into a tropical storm or Hurricane ... what will they do? Will the captain just make itinerary changes? I'm nervous 😩 The cruise won't get canceled will it?

The "shade that you purchase " is commonly called "clamshells ". Many like them.
Is it first come, first serve with the clamshells? Do you purchase them on the island or on the ship?

Glad you guys had a wonderful time! We'll be on in 2 weeks.
What time did you guys get to the port and what time did they start boarding?
CoronaVirus Impact on the Cruise Industry

I just watched a video on this and I’m just so worried. Cruising is my favorite form of travel. I’ve been cruising since I was 8 years old. I’m booked on a July cruise with Carnival and my husband and I were going to take my son on his first cruise. I know most likely this cruise will be canceled because of the global circumstances but I’m just so scared that the whole cruise industry might go down..
what do you all think???
