  1. We have booked the Eclipse for March 29, 2015. I have since found out that it will be the last cruise before she goes into dry dock! Is this a good idea? Kinda rethinking this, if i recall in the past on these boards this has been discussed and it may not be a good idea! Thoughts?

  2. Have any of you actually SEEN them on ebay? Has anyone actually SEEN someone buy or sell a coupon on the ship?

This was first posted on April 1!!!!

That is a good thought! Could have been an April fools joke! I do think tnat there was a thread about this a month or so ago, though. I guess if it is, then the jokes on me:eek::)

  3. It's depressing to think that folks would actually sell the coupons.... Is this really the type of person that takes a celebrity cruise? Maybe it's time to go on a quality cruise line with folks that aren't always looking for a way to make a couple of bucks....

Sense the coupons are dated it is kinda funny (or sad) that some fool would actually BUY them on e-bay. That would be a complete waste of money, they can't even use them!

JMHO, I would think you would have to have a few brain cells missing to waste your time/ money on buying these! Would they NOT be totally useless!

    OK, let the flaming begin!

  4. Hi Sandi

Great review! The ship looks beautiful! I wouldLOVE to sail on her one of these days!

We will be on the Eclilse in April and I have a question for you. Well two actually. Is the storage on the Eclipse also above the bed? I love your idea about the cubes up there. I have one of those hanging thingies for a closet - cloth, has 5 shelves and folds (collapses flat) . Kind of like a shoe holder but wider. Would there be room in the closet for that instead of the cubes?

Thanks so much. Your photos are beautiful! Can't wait for April and our first time in the Caribbean AND on an S class ship!

  5. Loved reading through this thread, lots of laughs!!!

On our Panama Canal cruise (9/25/09) I came out of our stateroom and started down the hall. A woman was coming out of her room and turned around to say hi to me. Apparently she had been at the pool to long, because her face was beet red EXCEPT around her eyes:eek:, she had worn some kind of goggles and had white rings around them! BTW, she scared the crap out of me! This was on the 3rd day of the cruise (16 days) and she ALWAYS looked like that! We nicked named her "Rockey Racoon". Everyone on the ship knew who everyone else was talking about!

  6. WOW!!!

I have just spent a very enjoyable hour looking through all 15 pages! Great review, beautiful pictures! You have brought back SOOOO many wonderful memories. We were on the Infinity through the canal in September 2009 (16days! Seattle to Ft, Lauderdale) all I can say is LOVE the ship, the crew, and all the ports were wonderful. Probably the best vacation so far.

    Thanks again for the memories!

  7. Hi Corkey!

Just returned from my Alaska cruise yesterday and we really did have a great time, It was fantastic spending some one-on-one time with my daughter. The Infinity, well, not so much, especially compared with the last time we were on board in September.(wonderful) If you want, go to our roll call to read a few of my thoughts - June 11th, 2010.

  8. We got ICE cold towels on our Panama Canal cruise on the Infinity in September. Also ice water or fruit punch. They had a "mini" living room set up on the pier. very cute;)

BTW, on our Alaska cruise with Celebrity, they had hot cocoa or chicken broth and cookies handed out. This was not done on the pier but after you "ding" in. Very nice touch!! In was not really cold in Alaska, but still a nice welcome back treat!:)

    Enjoy your cruise

  9. DH and I were waiting in line at YVR for the buses to the ship. This "lady" in line behind us NEVER stopped complaining!! About everything! she was from texas and nothing was as good as texas, the airport was crowded, too many asian people (Yes, really!), bus fumes, etc. Then when we finally got on the bus, guess what? she sat right behind us for the very looong bus ride to the pier. And again, she never shut up! The traffic in Vancouver was terrible, streets are all broken up, too much construction, they will NEVER be ready for the Olympics (our cruise was in Sept, 2008), on and on it went. When we finally got off the bus my dh says "if she is at our table we are moving!" thank goodness Miss Texas was not!!! And I didn't even know she was with a husband until we got off the bus and she started barking orders to him, he never said a word!! could NOT get one in LOL!

How bad can it be, you are going on a cruise!!!

  10. I have cabin 9070 reserved and I wonder about the large overhang just above your head. It seems like it would really hinder the view and perhaps cause the balcony to be dark and wet. Has anyone stayed in one of these cabins? I reserved online and they really don't have many cabins up for grabs. Will that change as the June 2010 Alaska Cruise nears? Thanx for any input.

    Nanci40,

Welcome to cruise critic!! You will find lots of very useful information here.

We were in 9043 thru the Panama Canal in September and I was also worried about the overhang, but really hardly noticed it at all. I usually look straight out or down at the ocean so no problem.

I'm taking my daughter to Alaska in June (just a girls trip) We are on the Infinity June 11th. When is your Alaska cruise?

  11. This may have already been answered in the 24 pages of posts:eek: but here is my question. We will be going to the Panama Canal in September, and I would like to have my passport stamped in all the ports we are going to. But I have been advised NOT to bring your passport off the ship, just a copy of it, sooo how do I go about this? do they stamp them on the ship? I also know that in Mexico, the port area is fenced and gated, can it be stamped in this area and then brought back to the ship?

My DH and I have never been to Mexico before, so I'm not in the know!!

Thanks in advance for the answers to this sort of newbys questions.

    Happy Cruising
