I live in Melbourne, just wanted to say that the 109 tram doesn't go passed Fed square. It goes to Southern Cross station in Spencer's Street and then up Collins Street. You could get off at the Collins Street/Swanston Street intersection and walk down to Fed Square it's only 2 blocks. It may be quicker to gat cab, shouldn't cost to much about $25.

Excursions have just been posted for our Feb 2015 cruise. I would like to do a ship's excursion in Melbourne that includes a wildlife sanctuary and a winery. The choices include lunch at either the Fergusson or Rochford winery.
Any comments re the meal at either winery.
We do not want to do an independent full day winery tour.
Thanks.
Alaskanb,
We live in the Yarra Valley, we have been to both many times, both are lovely wineries.
I would choose Fergussons over Rochford in a minute for many reasons.
Fergussons is family owned and run (Louise Fergusson is the head chef, she is the owners wife), whereas Rochfords is more up market and commercial.
I hope this helps.

One post says that you can return by boat instead of the bus, then there is no need for the cable car.
