So how much do you bribe, oops sorry Tip, them at the beginning and middle to give you outstanding service? My thought is they should be giving outstanding over the top service no matter if you tip extra or not. I have had butlers on Celebrity and NCL and have never tipped before the end of the cruise and have almost always gotten excellent service, then at the end I will tip according to the amount of extra care they gave.

Yes, I expected that on disembarkation day but not the night before.

So we were in line with you as we were only two in the cabin for 7 days, it just got to me that he disappeared after getting the tip.

I was wondering what a reasonable tip is for the Butler, we have had them on previous cruises and have tipped $100 for the week over the normal that is automatically applied to the cabin bill as he did do some extra things for us but we didn't receive any feedback from him and was wondering if this actually insulted him as from the time we gave the tip, day before disembarkation, through disembarkation day we didn't see him at all again.
