  1. Chels08 - I am also on the 3 day Anthem. Have you signed up for the activities? There is a solo lunch at Jamie's on Sunday ($15). You can email me at cc138east at gmail if you like.

Yay! Yes I signed up for the lunch and a few other activities. Truly looking forward to them and will certainly email you! :)

Newbcruiser1- I have not cruised as a true solo yet as I have always cruised with my family in the past. but if we are not on excursions/ dinner, we do our own things (hence when I become a solo cruiser). On my last cruise on Adventure, I attempted the solo gathering, but as it was in the Schooner Bar when trivia was happening, it was very hard to decipher who was who. Other times, I don't believe anyone showed up. Having a designated host in a different area and maybe announcements would have been helpful.

  2. As stated, glad you made it back safely! I'm sure it was memorable to say the least.

I am taking my first solo cruise on Anthem in a few weeks so this is all very helpful. Honestly, my first choice to do a solo cruise would have been NCL/ Breakaway due to the solos lounge, but I also didn't want to miss the opportunity to sail on Anthem/ take a cruise to nowhere.

  3. To those that would know, do the inside cabins have a clock in the room?

There were clocks in the two balcony cruises I took but I sailed once inside and there was no clock in the room. I am prone to waking up numerous times during the night and withouth a clock/sunlight I had no sense of night or daytime.

Should I bring my own clock?

I stayed in an inside last cruise and there was no clock.

  4. I have not been on the Explorer yet but If I am correct in my reading, you can get free coffe at Cafe Promenade but if you want "Seattle's Best" coffee, it's gonna cost ya. I think Seattle's Best is their version of a Starbucks. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. :)

Seattle's Best is actually a Starbucks subsidiary! Which is great for me, because I drink Starbucks like its mother's milk.

One thing I was wondering about, is there anyway for me to connect my ipod into the TV on EOS to listen to music? (I was able to do this on the LOS last year). It would save me space by not having to pack my ihome. Thanks!!

  5. chels08: Hmmmm....black dressy shorts, IMHO, would be acceptable in the MDR - with a nice top, i.e. dressy blouse or something similar and dressy sandals (not flip flops).

I believe Capris or a skirt is a better choice, but that's only my opinion.

Any time you are sitting at a table, the primary fashion statement comes from your waist up, no one sees the bottom half. So your top is what will be noticed and should be appropriate for the dining venue.

Other Fashionista posters - please add your comments.

    Thanks, chels08, for asking here.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I think I'll stick with dresses/skirts/pants, and pack the shorts as a backup ie if I see others in similar style shorts, I'll wear them one night.

    Thanks again!!
