I love the idea of flip flops and of course I just bought a cute pair thinking "Ok, I will break them in." But I swear, my toes do NOT like flip flops, but I like the idea. I have NO callous built up between my toes since I have never been able to tolerate them. So, usually I just use my water shoes, but they aren't as cute as flip flops with my swimsuits/pool covers.

 

So, I am trying to online search for flip flops WITHOUT the thong. So that is what I search for -- no luck. Do they make such a thing? Like flip flops with a straight band across instead of thing around or between your toes, and if so, what are they named for a google search. I looked around in the store when I got my flip flops at DSW but I couldn't find an alternative that didn't have that toe or thong thingy.

 

So, if anyone could help me out, much appreciated!! Or any tips for breaking in thongs (have a month to do it, been trying for about 10 minutes a day, can't make it out to the deck without wanting to take them off). TIA.

I would call what you are describing as "slides".

We are thinking of booking a cruise on Seaside. While on their website, I saw that if we send them a copy of another cruise lines loyalty card they will put us in one of their categories. Has anyone figured out their method for deciding where to place a person new to MSC? Our highest standing is Diamond on Royal although we have a few cruises on NCL and Princess.

Is there any way to find out who the Captain will be of a certain ship in December? I know there is often a switch close to the holidays. We really want to sail with Capt Johnny on Harmony so would like to book accordingly.

I love a French but it doesn't always hold up so well with sunscreen and sand and chlorine. A metallic of any shade would be lovely.

Another suggestion is looking at Dansko. I just bought 2 pairs of walking shoes. One is a tie and the other is a slip on with the elastic cord to tighten. Fun colors. About $100 per pair

Walmart has the best price on pill boxes. I also use the plastic pill bags. then I don't have to worry about the pill boxes accidentially opening.

on our 9 day in July neither my husband nor I ever had a bad meal. His favorite was the Windjammer. He loved all the food options. The warm choc covered donuts were awesome.

I liked the French Onion soup and dh liked the shrimp. The crab cakes we had one night were good too. The steak was usually pretty good all over and I liked the Pork chops in the American Icon (or Chic- I can't remember).

I am so glad to hear they brought back the donuts. The last few cruises we have been on donuts were not offered. We asked each time and were told that they were taken off the rotation. My husband will be so happy to have them back. A donut, cup of coffee and a seat on the balcony is how he likes to start his day.

Sending hugs and good thoughts. Use the financial assistance from the pharma company if offered. It has saved me tens of thousands of dollars for my auto immune condition.

We also use colored or print duct tape wrapped around the handle. Makes it easy to identify.

Have a great trip. We are sailing in November. I'll be interested in your thoughts about the dining, not so much the food as the rotation of dining rooms.

I have also used a sea salt spray from Aquage that I really like.

I would.. Wearing red is good any time of the year.

We will be flying into Newark in November for our Anthem cruise. Our plan is to fly in, go to the hotel, drop off our luggage and then catch a train to Manhattan for the day.

I booked with moana surfrider. We are using them this September. Day rate is specifically what I asked for. Arrive 8am until 7pm same day

We are staying at the Surfrider precruise. I called and was told they don't do day rates. obviously I need to call back. Do you remember what dept you spoke with?

I bought this one years ago and love it. It has held up very well and the chin strap keeps it from blowing away. The new colors are very pretty, so I may buy another one this Spring.

Believe it or not, I just saw some pretty pastel wide-brimmed hats with under the chin ties in the garden department at our local Walmart. They looked "foldable" for easy packing. You might check those out to see if you like the style.

I'm looking for a cute sunhat that ties to wear on deck or on excursions. I have a couple of cute ones but most of the time I find myself hanging on to them while on deck.

Any suggestions?
