Smart!
I think I am going to start a fund for my passage on Icon to the moonI think Virgin will probably do it before RCL with Branson as the owner. Nonetheless, we should start saving now. 😂

I'm a little unsure about the language. Is the cost listed per person or for the entire table? Yikes either way, though.

Coastal kitchen
Coastal Kitchen is the restaurant. I believe you are referring to the Suite Lounge. Wine and beer are available for free all day there (starting at 11 am I think). Free appetizers and cocktails are available during happy hours, which can vary. Generally around 5-8 pm.

You can move a sailing to a TA within 60 days of booking it.
Oh good. I'm within the 60 day window. Thanks.

There has been discussion upthread about using a TA to get group rates. If I already have a cruise booked directly with RCI, can I move it to a TA to get their group rates?

In the past we have stayed overnight in Texas City. This way we get most of the way there but avoid the high prices of Galveston hotels. This time we're actually staying in Galveston the night before the cruise. I managed to score a Hilton property for $125 a night on Galveston Island. Typically I have been able to find hotels in and around Texas City just over $100 and the Uber the following morning was just around 25 minutes.
I just checked the Home2 suites in Texas city and the price for an overnight on the Saturday the 23rd of Dec is $123. Even at this late date you still can get a decent price.
Thank you for this tip! We're booked on the Harmony out of Galveston in December 2025. I had been looking at hotels in Galveston to get an idea of the rates. I hadn't even thought of checking Texas City hotel rates. You're right, they're much cheaper. Really appreciate the heads up.

That must be very recent. I have linked profiles for clients within the past couple of months and nothing was required
How do you link accounts? DH and I were married in October and I'd like to link our accounts. I didn't see anything about it on my C&A page.

Is anybody having problems to see cruises on the Royal Caribbean web page? When I search for cruises, either the page just stops or tells me no cruise could be found.
Yes, I'm having the same problems. I also got an error message when trying to search for cruises in the app.

Thanks for the info....my concern is that we just looked and for our sailing there are no more reservations available for Izumi. So we are going to pay for UDP and not be able to eat at all of the places....Really stinks.
There's no need to do that. They hold back reservations so that there will be some available on the ship. Just be sure to go to Izumi immediately when you board to make you're reservation.

Gosh, I would think something must have slipped through the cracks. Assuming you are not a nefarious character, is there any way to follow up on the status?
Unfortunately, no. You just have to keep checking the status page.

My Global Entry has been in a "Pending" status since I applied on Dec 22, 2022.
My husband's has also been in "pending" status since he submitted his renewal in February.

Or would you absolutely go the day before? The price of a hotel for a night is irrelevant. However, finding a place to stay for 5 (two of whom are teenagers) where we are not on top of each other could be another story
Absolutely go the day before. It is not uncommon to have weather/air traffic control delays in the EWR/LGA area. Since hotel cost is not an issue, consider 2 rooms to give everyone room (especially 2 bathrooms with 2 teenagers).

Take this year for example, but it may change slightly. Year-round Caribbean deployment opened in December, while Winter/Spring Caribbean opened in February.
I am hoping to sail the Harmony out of Galveston in December 2025. But I see that she is on the St Maarten port list starting August 2025, although there is speculation elsewhere in this thread that that is just a placeholder for Icon 2. Does Royal plan to keep an Oasis class ship sailing out of Galveston throughout 2025? Or is too soon to know that?

Our favorite was in Cozumel. We were on the Oasis and the Jewel was docked opposite us on the same pier. An older couple came staggering down the pier. At first I thought they had physical mobility issues, then realized that they were VERY drunk. They attempted to board the Oasis. When their Seapasses were scanned, the crew member very gently took them by the shoulder and walked them over to the Jewel. We saw them on the Jewel's glass elevators. They managed to get themselves off and then mistakenly got into the elevator beside that one. They realized their error at the last minute and barely avoided the doors closing on them. The last we saw of them they were weaving down the hall. It was highly entertaining.

I've had quite a few previous cruises booked through a TA with OBC that I used on the website to pay for excursions, drink packages, dining plans, etc. Maybe check with your TA to see if there are any unusual circumstances with your booking that might cause this to happen.

My partner got a DUI several years ago. In 2019, we did a HAL Alaska cruise RT from Seattle that stopped in Victoria. We had no problems boarding the ship in Seattle. We did some research prior to the cruise and found examples of people with DUIs who were paged to Guest Services after the ship docked in Victoria and were told that they were not allowed to disembark in Victoria. We chose to stay on the ship in Victoria and he was never paged to report to Guest Services. Granted, this was before Covid, so I have no experience with how ArriveCan might affect it.

Thank you everyone for the help. I think I’m booking tomorrow.
My daughter and son-in-law are interested in the balcony overlooking either Central Park or the Boardwalk. Does anyone have experience with this?
I am going to miss my Princess status but the furniture in the staterooms look much nicer.
My daughters have been in a Boardwalk stateroom twice. As I recall, they are slightly smaller than an ocean view balcony stateroom. They liked being able to watch the Aqua show from their balcony. However, they didn't like the noise from the Boardwalk. They've decided not to do one again. I would imagine the Central Park staterooms are a bit quieter.

I also recommend that you join the Meet and Mingle Roll Call for your specific cruise here on the boards after you book. It's a great way to get to know others on your sailing and you will find lots of helpful advice there, too. On our cruise, members were posting when they saw price drops on the cruise, excursions, drink and dining packages, etc. There will be many experienced Oasis cruisers there who can offer specific Oasis tips. One of the best tips I got was to book the Aqua Show as early in the week as possible. It can get cancelled if the weather gets too bad, so you have the best chance to get in on another show later in the week. Sure enough, our show got cancelled due to weather and we were able to go to the next night's show. We also did the Escape Room and it was a blast. We solved it with about 2 minutes left. It requires a reservation and there is an upcharge for it, although I can't remember how much it was. Maybe $15 - $20 per person? If you're thinking about doing the water park at Coco Cay, be aware that they enforce the 300 pound maximum weight limit with a discretely placed scale.

Thanks Joe. I'm trying to plan what time to be out there to be on the first shuttle, so I'll shoot for 7:30.
-
We're picking up a rental car from Budget when we disembark the Oasis at Port Canaveral. The office opens at 8. Does anyone know what time the first shuttle pick up is? I've tried calling the local office, but I end up in the national call center, and they don't know.

For those of you who took an Alaska cruise RT from Seattle this past summer, what were the boarding procedures in Seattle dealing with customs. Did you have to fill out any Canadian customs forms before you boarded, either online or at the port?

How do you buy a day pass to Melia? I don't see an option to do that online.

Reading this gave me PTSD flashbacks to your airport arrival on your last trip. 😂. At least this time you won't be waiting for Dupable to show up and can arrive on time. I'm very glad to hear that all the pups are better. Looking forward to following along again.
