  1. When O declined our request in April of this year, it  must have been because our spring cruise was on sale when we booked it last year.  I emailed new request forms a month ago for a cruise we are taking in mid-August - attaching all of the stock information they require.  I resubmitted the forms to Oceania again earlier this week.  Yesterday I received an email from Oceania saying that our request was approved and they had added the stock benefit ($250 this time cause we are on a 32 day cruise) to our booking account.  It doesn't show the on board credit when I look at it online, but I'm guessing its there.  My TA said he would follow up with Oceania and send me a revised invoice showing the credit.  So hopefully this mystery is solved.  Thanks to Basor for the Ultimate Sale response.

  2. We were booked on Oceania's Nautica for a 22 day cruise in the Med starting on April 1, 2022.  In December of 2021 I completed the stockholder benefit form, (with all relevant documents) and mailed to Oceania's offices in Miami.  Having received no response I emailed the benefit form, and all accompanying documents, to Oceania per instructions in January of 2022.  I did receive a reply email from Oceania within a few days acknowledging receipt of my documents and that my request was in the queue and would be answered in the order of the date received.  Still no response, I emailed the documents again in March of 2022.  When we boarded the ship on April 1 our shipboard credit still had not been posted.  After boarding I went to the reception desk and was told that we were NOT entitled to the credit since our cruise was on sale when we booked it - no apology and no explanation other than "this is Oceania's policy".  I looked through the terms and conditions but could not find any explanation.  Anyone have this happen before?

Am I assuming correctly that Lois expresses a desire for a "Test Cruise" that she really means a "FREE" sailing??  Not sure if and/or how soon such no-cost test cruises will be happening.  That is one of many "mystery meat" questions floating around.

From USA Today this afternoon, they had this headline: Royal Caribbean crew members test positive for COVID-19, disembark in Spain as passengerless ship sails to US” with these highlights: “Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Odyssey of the Seas, disembarked several crew members who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Spain as the ship makes its way to the United States after canceling cruises in Israel amid unrest earlier this month.  The ship is carrying 1,400 crew members. There are no passengers on board.  'Earlier this week, four crew members were identified after a positive test; they were immediately quarantined,' Royal Caribbean said.  Another crew member had inconclusive test results. All five were asymptomatic.  'We are working with local health authorities to safely disembark these crew members and oversee any medical care they need,' the cruise line said and later confirmed that the crew members had indeed disembarked at the Port of Palma in Mallorca, Spain.”

Does this little "detail" raise any questions?  And, how does this "news" affect the speed for CDC to allow and open up cruises from U.S. ports?  Am I worrying too much over nothing?

I do know that the port authority is making changes to the docking of certain boats starting September of this year.  I have emailed Oceania to see if they know which port Nautica will be docked at for our cruise and am happy to let you know when I hear back from them.  Of course, the port authority can change the pier at any time.

Jay 23, heard back from Oceania yesterday.  They say Nautica will leave from Marittima on 11/7/2019.  Just keep in mind that the port can change piers at any time.

Gator 50.........Please let us know where your Nautica docks when you find out.    .  We are disembarking from Sirena next August in Venice and we would really liked to know as we have to get to the airport.  The trip from Piazzale Roma on the airport bus costs €8.   A taxi from San Basilio is €40 !!   As there is no mention of S Basilio in the port schedule and I have found Sirena in the list, I imagined she would be docked in Maritima where we have docked more than once.    I can't really believe Oceania would be in S Basilio overnight would you?    It is not very convenient for having a quick sightseeing visit in the City.      J

  6. Terry, I read that you booked an independent tour when you visited Jerusalem last year.  Our cruise in November docks at Haifa port in Israel.  Itinerary says we dock at 6:00 AM.  I was hoping that we could get off the ship at 7:00 AM and meet our tour guide on the pier.  Based on prior experience, do you think an hour after docking is sufficient time to get off the ship.  I understand that passengers who book a tour through Oceania are allowed off first.  Being as this is a much smaller ship that we are accustomed to, wasn't sure if an hour was enough.  Thoughts, please

PS I contacted your tour guide for Jerusalem and he was already booked, but he did refer me to another tour guide that he said was very good.  So, thanks for all the information.
