Thanks for the information. I am going on 7/26 on a 13 day tour and can not wait to ready your posts on the ports. Sorry to hear on mdr since that is what I have. Hopefully it will get better. I have done reservations for some days and did book the Italian restaurant.
How was your weather?
Thanks

Hi, I wanted to know should I buy my ticket for Flygbussarna on line or do they have a manned booth. I will want to pay by credit card and wondering if I have a problem but will have some SEK as well. It seems to be about 25.00 for two one way. Where will I find them when I leave the Arlanda airport. Thanks, Briody

Great - I would have been so sad if I didn't.

Thanks. So for the airport to hotel it seems Flygbussarna is the best but is by destination for Central Station - Cityterminalen the same?
On the travel card how much is a bus ride, subway ride and a ferry ride so I know how much to put on it. Do you do this at the airport.
I like the ferry ride for going to the ship but do you think the bus I will see more.
My budget is not bad but don't want to waste it on taxis rather use it for other items.

I am arriving at the airport on Saturday around 12.
I will be staying at the Sheridan, which I believe the train station is very close. What would I take at the airport to get to this hotel? I thought I should buy the pass for three days. I was going to take a wakling tour of Gamla Stan, eat and bed. Sunday I can get on my ship but I thought I would do Vasa Museum first - I am guessing take a train there or do you suggest walking over to Nybroplan and taking a boat. Then I would head back to the hotel and to the port - not sure how to do that yet .
The next day I thought I would head over to City Hall maybe walk a little more in Gamla Stan.
Any suggestions? I leave that day around 4. Also you probably have addressed transportation issues many times and I thank you.

Thank you for your help. Do the taxis run on Sunday the day I have to go to the airport.

So would you say Ribe or the castle?
Thanks

Is Ribe in the same direction as the castle?
Thanks

Hello Danish viking,
I booked the Admiral Hotel and I am leaving on a Sunday to go to the airport. I can get a taxi from the hotel on this day - right?
Looking for a good restaurant by the hotel for dinner - not too expensive - for my last night - any suggestions.
Also any must haves on souvenirs?
Thanks for your help

Thanks everyone. I think I may rest that day. Also I don't mind walking at all. I guess I don't find out till closer where they dock. I haven't decided on a hotel but have picked some and hope the next day they can keep my bags and I go the Museum before I board the ship.
Just love cruise critic - thanks again. Briody

I am just starting all my research for my July 15 cruise. Does anyone know what port Royal Caribbean docks in Stockholm? So far I was planning on coming in a day ahead and staying close to Old Town. Next day I would do Vasa Museum - can I walk from Old Town or take the boat? Also how would I get to the cruise terminal - can I get their by boat and bring my luggage - would only be a carry on .
St Petersburg - going to do the 2 day tour with SPB but I am still there an extra day - not sure what to do - do a cruise tour for shopping? Or just relax - any suggestions.
Thanks
Briody:)

I know I am coming a terrible weekend 10/18 to 10/20 - then start the cruise. I got reservations at Hotel Langham on Franklin Street.
Thanks for the warning :)

Hi,
I am going on Royal Caribbean in October and here are my plans(very rough) - any suggestions would be wonderful
Boston - arriving 2 days before. Friday night - North End for dinner and bed. Saturday thinking of doing the free walking tours - maybe North End and Freedom Trail. Then just wander around the markets and shops. Not much planned here.
Halifax- will do the Halifax Cruise Ship Tours found on trip advisor for about 4-5 hours. Then not sure - go to the town - walk around. Heard I should go to Alexander's Keith Brewery - is that close to the port.
St John - going to rent a car. Will have a GPS but will have to get addresses for where to go.
Bar Harbor - Acadia National Park Tours. Then the town. Any suggestions
Portland - City & Lighthouse Tour and then town.
So the big question is the towns - I can walk around from the ship - right?
What are must sees in the town? Where can I get the best lobster roll and clams.
Thanks
Briody

Thanks for the reviews. I thought in Rick Steve's book you could walk into town in Riga but maybe I am confusing Tallinn.
I can't believe on the formal you could wear jeans - I just talked my husband into bringing dress pants - no jacket - shirt and tie. We normally always do the specialty dining on the formal night and would like to see if I am missing anything :) Not telling him.
