  1. It looks like they have finally updated the maps for Singapore to Cape Town & Capetown to  Southampton.

The Australian website still shows "Sold Out" for all categories for Singapore to Cape Town (whereas the UK & US site has been bookable for some time with plenty of availability).

I contacted Cunard to find out why it can't be booked in Australia & if they know when it will be fixed but had no response.

    Does anyone know the reason?

  2. I'm surprised that the maps on the Cunard website still seem to show it going to Dubai, etc.

I also tried a dummy booking & the UK site doesn't seem to work for me & the US website seems to show no inside cabins (for example).  Maybe its because I am looking from Australia.

I guess they are probably concentrating on sorting out existing bookings to see what they have available & update their website accordingly.

  3. Thanks for all the helpful replies.

Any thoughts on the comparison between the cappuccinos at the various cafes (which people seem to indicate are similar, more dependent on the barista) & the concierge suite lounge machine?

Also, do any of the places have real milk (as opposed to UHT) - yes, a bit of a strange question but I just find UHT leaves a funny taste in coffee (and tea).

Speaking of tea, I guess tea is also available in the concierge suite lounge all the time?

    Cheers!

You may want to save the attached hyperlink. It is a collection of the cruise compasses from all the Royal Caribbean ships and is kept up to date so you can view show/show times and which days they are shown. I have found this to be helpful in sorting out a weekly schedule of activities and dining reservations.

Thanks for the great link.  The shows haven't appeared on our app yet (aside from Starwater).

Are the show schedules typically the same for a given ship throughout the year (and in different countries)?

Is there an easy way to print the cruise compasses (I tried printing from the browser but it includes all the surrounding webpage & is illegible)?

    Cheers,

    Gary.

  5. We would be interested if anyone has "secret" or favourite places they like to go on the Quantum-class ships.

For example, one of the previous ships we went on some time back had a deck area right at the front of the ship that was only accessible by a door at the end of the corridor of one of the lower passenger decks.  It was always a quiet place to see arrival into ports, etc as not many people found it.

Another thing we used to do when we got on board was ask at the desk about any special activities that we could book.  I always liked asking about engine room & bridge tours which were really interesting & great to chat with the Engineers & captain although I suspect these sorts of things are off-limits nowadays.

    Cheers,

    Gary.

If you have an iPhone you can add your seapass to Apple Wallet and the last four digits of the barcode is your gty cabin number. If you have an Android use a barcode scanner.

What a great tip!  Just found out our cabin number (in the qty category we booked).

We have just over 2 weeks to sailing.

Does this mean that our RoyalUp bids are not successful?

My app still doesn't show a cabin number ("-" for Deck, GTY for Stateroom & "-" for muster) but when I view setsail pass it shows Deck 3, GTY & a barcode (which decodes to our stateroom number).

I really appreciate if anyone knows if that will definately be our stateroom now, or if a royalup is still possible.

    Cheers,

    Gary.

  7. Hello,

We are going for our first cruise for some time in a few weeks & first time on Quantum of the Seas.

We see on our cruise planner that you can buy a coffee card with 15 coffees for A$54 (about US$31) & have a few questions.

Is this the same price on board?

Is this the only way to get cappuccino's, etc onboard?  (or are there some free venues?)

Can the card be shared amongst two people?

    Cheers,

    Gary.

  8. You only need to read the comments on this post to realise this a ridiculous situation.

I have to avoid the entire centrum area?

I have to walk up to a different deck to get to the other end of the ship or avoid deck 6 altogether?

Surely Royal Caribbean can see that an increasing minority of passengers are affecting everyone else?

It appears that their smoking policy was last revised in January 2014 when they stopped smoking in the casino for cruises departing Australia & UK.

It's now 2019, I imagine the percentage of smokers has diminished substantially & a majority of the western world bans smoking in public areas.

Surely the solution on this class of ship is simple; ban smoking in the casino.

Until they do, they've just lost another customer.

  9. I'm not a beer drinker, so I'm not sure if any of these beers are reasonable, but on Azamara you can purchase a Premium package for $15.95 per day & then choose from these beers:

Coors Light, Miller Lite, Corona Extra, Amstel Light, Pilsner Urquell, Leffe, Carlsberg, Heineken, Stella Artois, Heineken Premium Light, Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Moretti, Estrella Damm, Guiness Draught Can, Boddingtons Pub Ale, Warsteiner, Grolsch, Murphy’s Irish Stout

... plus lots of other spirits:

  10. I notice that they have TBD for the cruise director on Azamara Quest - even for the current cruise already sailing!

So I guess its not so much a matter that they don't know, more that the website hasn't been updated.

Does anyone know the likely Hotel Director for the Pursuit cruise on Sept 29th?

  11. Can’t answer this ( except you can have an included espresso)......

    Hi Host Grandma,

Thanks for the great reposonses in this thread.

Do you know which coffee liqueur they use for the included expresso martini?

Someone above mentioned they couldn't get one because Kahlua wasn't on the list but previously someone said you could get it.

  12. There seems to be some obvious omissions from the included spirits list (e.g. it would have been nice to have one Kahlua/Baileys type liqueur included), but overall if seems quite generous & seems to give a lot more flexibility that if they just said "only these particular drinks included".

I thought someone earlier mentioned they got an expresso martini with the standard drinks.

If you have the premium beverage package you could always get one made with Tia Maria:

  13. A single page of tips would be perfect.

Perhaps if the regulars on Azamara could post their tips here, proctor could include them all in the first post & once it has a reasonable amount of tips on it it could become sticky.

We're on the Pursuit on Sept 29th & learnt a lot from Alsuns thread & little things like knowing about the White night prepares you & makes it so much more enjoyable.
