  1. We had a two bedroom suite on the Dawn. Our 2 kids were 7 and 4. My mother in law and the kids shared the small bedroom. Mother in law and 4 year old shared bottom bed, 7 year old got top. She (mom in law) loved it. Said the bed was fine had no issues. Our butler made sure we had kid friendly snacks every afternoon. I'm afraid this cruise in 13 days on the Getaway, they are going to be disappointed not being in a suite. Have fun making memories with the family.

  2. I would go on the Gem just for the itinuary. I love St.Marrtin. It is one of my favorite ports. I cruised for a baby moon about 7 1/2 years ago. It was a great cruise on the Sun (I think). We went to the Mexican Riveria. I had no issues with the beds or any thing at that time. My Ob/Gyn insisted I wear a patch to prevent seasickness. He said throwing up and feeling nauxious on a boat 20 some weeks pregnant is not a good combination. I wasn't sick but I have never had issues with that. Better safe then sorry. Have fun and enjoy your last vacation before parent hood. Vacations change after kids. But I wouldn't change any of it.

  3. It depends on what you like. I went to a couple of the main performance shows and I wasn't impressed. I thought both the lead singers weren't very good. I did enjoy the aerobatic stuff during the performances. We like to listen to the live music at the different bars. There's not a lot of seating at the bar by the cigar lounge but that's where we found ourselves most nights. The man that played piano and sang we really enjoyed. There was a lady that played guitar and sang that we avoided. I didn't feel there was a lot of "club" like activities. They did two adult shows on the last night of the cruise and they didn't start until 10. I hope this helps a little.

  4. The information on this thread is old, you do not pay for shore excursions at the time of booking in full not just a reservation. Yes, they can be cancelled onboard.

Are you referring to excursions through NCL that are booked prior to boarding? If so, your incorrect. I just cruised in December on the Dawn. I booked an excursion online through NCL. It was charged in full at that time. I can't say if it was refundable because I knew I was going to go no matter what.

  5. I know that you have cruised a lot with your daughter. We cruised the Dawn with both our kids for the first time a few weeks ago. They loved the kids club activities. I noticed that they were pretty similiar to what ours did. Do you know if they change often? Do they change from ship to ship or once a year? IE, has she ever been the tiger in the circus show before?

  6. We just returned on Sunday from the Dawn. My kids 4 and 7 loved the kids club. They begged to go and to stay. On sea days they spent most of the day there except for the closed meal times. They went after dinner every night until 10. A lot of the free play times are the 1/2 windows for pick up. The staff was great. They keep the kids really busy. They have lots of planned activities. My kids asked when the next cruise was so they can go back to the kids club. I'm sure your daughter will love it.

  7. We didn't pick up anyone in Cozumel. So, it was a closed loop cruise. Off the ship very quickly. No issues. When we left Tampa we were late leaving because of the open loop and we had refueling issues. Lost our spot in line out of port so had to wait until sevenish to leave.

  8. We are going to zipline in Belize. We are taking our two kids with us but my mother in law might want to go to. My question is, do you have to climb a ladder to the platform? I have never zipped before so I don't know how it works. My mother in law has had her knees replaced so I thought it might be too strenuous for her. Thanks for any info you can pass along to me.

  9. My husband and I cruised this past week on the Epic and discovered this. I couldn't believe I had not read about it yet on Cruise Critic. I was excited to be able to come back and post it but you beat me to it. Not only is it able to be seen from other ships but also by passengers. We discovered by walking out to the pool deck at night when the boat was rocking to see what the weather was like. We walked out from the Garden Buffet and immediately turned left and walked to the rail. We looked to the right and wham there was the men's rest room. From that angle, if a man using the urinal turned and zipped at the same time it is possible to expose one's self if they aren't careful. We walked to the other side and the woman's restroom is the same way but not as big of deal due to stalls. We laughed about it.
