do you know if the XL option costs more?
Yes. Bigger vehicle = bigger $$
-
I would call them up and book it. Often the best suites are not shown on web sites. This applies to many cruise lines and even hotels.
-
Strand Palace Hotel. In the middle of everything.:)
Excellent choice, affordable, and near Waterloo station for trains to Southampton. Treat yourself to tea ($$$) at the Savoy Hotel across the street. It's also near Covent Garden and many theatres. It really is in an excellent location for walking to see / do many things.

Formality and history. Of course, all the rest is all great!

QEII will be gone by 2022? Not if she takes after her mother! Otherwise, I like Berengaria. Of course the original was actually, first, the German Imperator (but you all know that). Frankly, I think the proposed external design for this ship is cruise ship / apartment block hideous. Just stick a Carnivore or HAL funnel on it!

I saw nothing here about poor service. You went on a wait list, and you should not expect to hear anything directly from Cunard unless a cabin becomes available. As to an inspection tour prior to the voyage, a completely unrealistic expectation, as these all but impossible to achieve these days. Imagine if everyone booking the ship wanted such before-hand, regardless of the cruise cost. BTW, one can easily spend 25,000+ just on a 7 night QM2 trans Atlantic!

Check all the time, it has happened, but within 7 days of the cruise, not too likely.

Hi, Lou. Hope your Thanksgiving was better than mine, spent discharging 78,000 barrels of gasoline in Savannah and up all night bunkering. But enough about me.
Interesting find. I've looked at a few sites, including "wrecksite", a european site, and they all say that the Polaris was one of the first cruise ships, and one of the first purpose built.
Yes, chief, "one" of. I totally forgot "Luise", but not Albert Ballin, but Stella sailed for decades and is worthy of mention none the less. As my brain gets full of stuff, some gets put in file cabinets that I cannot find!
Ya' gotta get back on the cruise ships! Oops, you're American- not so easy.
Stay well, my good man! :)

Hi chief, happy holidays, and I hope all is well.
Well, I'll cede this one to you. I was thinking or the Stella Polaris (1927) of Sweden's Bergen line. Oh well.

If Carnival cancels these cruises how could you lose your deposit? It would be refunded to you.

Years ago (1980s and 1990s), The Maitre D' would be available on the day you board for re-seating. When greeting him, "Palming" (for lack of a better word) some money into his hand while shaking it almost always resulted in getting whatever table and time I wanted. Does this still occur?
Indeed. The palming part almost always works.
You are best off talking person to person on the ship, not via email. Imagine how many they must get!
Also, don't be so quick to "palm".;)

Okay, make that the world's FIRST cruise ship!
-
Who was she and what happened to her?
Yes, a bit of trivia here.
She was NOT a transatlantic ocean liner converted to a cruise ship, nor was she a Mississippi river boat (not a ship to begin with). She was purpose-built to cruise the world, and she did for some 40 years, and had a long life afterwards.
Chengkp75, Wikipedia got it wrong, but my original post on this several weeks ago was sent to another forum, where it got lost. Thus, I re-post here.
Ok, folks, have at it! :D

I haven't looked at NCL's ticket contract lately, but I know that most of the lines have terms like "not responsible for errors in advertising".
Correct as always, "cheng". The cruise lines really cover their "tush".
Having a screen shot will do no good.

Great so far, can't wait to read the rest! :)

Joe Farcus is a genius interior designer and, did you know, he also designed the whale tail funnel?
You either love his work or hate it.
See him in this recent video:

Try Holland America or Cunard.
-
A lot of familiar names I'm seeing here, but mine was in 1985 on Costa Riviera, the former Lloyd Triestino liner Marconi.

One more who agrees with Celebrity! :)

This scenario would never happen. The medical emergency would be taken to a hospital in the port and air lifted to another medical facility if the one in port couldn't handle the issue.
Correct! The OP is proposing a scenario that would NEVER occur.
-
What is your reason or concern for asking this?
Swells aside, I can assure you that more than swells can rock 'n roll a ship.
Having sailed in "12" conditions more than once I have a bit of experience with this.
-
Age and size has little to do with it. In fact, larger ships can be affected more than smaller ones due to the massive amount of the ship's superstructure that sticks out of the water, and the relatively shallow draft of the ship in the water.
What you need to learn about is the Beaufort scale of wind / sea conditions, it goes from 0 to 12. With 0 being "dead calm", to 12 being around 74 mph, or the start of hurricane wind speeds.
Learn about it here.
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/faq/tornado/beaufort.html
Otherwise considering that Triumph is not an ocean liner, and top heavy I would expect that any thing over a 4-5 is going to affect the ship.

Huh? What "wrong cruise line"? The cruise line, CCL is correct.
-
Country ,Florida :D ;). I heard the ex husband had a hand on the luggage  before it fell.
I never presume that since it is Carnival that it WILL be Florida. While based here it is NOT a USA cruise line.

You might want to research your answer further as in reference to entities that have a stake in NCLH, as I do not agree, and will not do your research for you.
