I have 6 of them from previous cruises and have never had a problem. I love them and as long as you purchase with the mindset that they are costume jewelry then you can still enjoy your purchase.

Yes, in order to get a price reduction it has to be for the same category cabin you booked. And also correct that if a balcony, etc. Price for lower then you can upgrade to that. We booked a deluxe ocean view but upgraded to a balcony when prices dropped a couple of months ago.

Our 3rd and 4th in a cabin have had the beds from the ceiling and sofa bed all but once. That time one person had to sleep on a trundle. Not sure if it's always the case, but it was short!! My daughter is 5'5" and her feet hung off the end. She hated it!

Thanks y'all! I was freaking to the point if nearly ordering a new one from VA...heck, if it was good enough to issue a darn passport then certainly should be fine for a cruise line. I'm taking the advice of no longer worrying what that person says. Thanks again.

Hopefully last question... The same person said they were told that the BC must say certificate of birth. The state issued one I have from VA in the 90s says "certification of vital record". We had no issue using it to get her (now expired) passport but wanted to check with y'all.

They are both state issues...don't think I even have hospital ones. Although I do see many people saying various states have moved away from a "raised" seal and they don't have any issues.

Thanks for the quick reply. One of my daughters was born where we still live so no big deal if another one was needed...the other one was about 16 hours away and we sail in barely 3 weeks. Freaking was an understatement. lol

I have a weird question. My cruise has a Facebook group and is coming up in a few weeks. This will be the first time my daughter's will be sailing without a passport (theirs expired last month and we were not able to renew them right now) so will just be using birth certificates and driver's license. Anyway, someone posted on the FB page that they were told the birth certificates had to be dated AFTER 9/11. I have never heard such a thing and I am now freaking out because these are obviously from when my kids were born prior to that. Has anyone who cruised had this sort of issue or comment made to them? Looking for a little reassurance.

I book ES every chance I get. You can take advantage of price drops for any sort of sale (Military, Past Guest, Resident, Senior, More=Merrier, etc.) up until 2 days before you cruise. For instance, this time I originally booked an OV and have upgraded to a balcony, moved up to the Veranda deck, plus have over $400 in OBC.

Have a question...I've often had OBC when we cruise, but this time is different. My daughter's boyfriend is cruising with us. He will have his own account for charging things, but is there a way to prevent his charges from using the OBC in our cabin? Is the OBC specifically linked to my husband or I...or is it just floating around linked to the cabin only and therefore any purchases made my any of the room occupants will use it? As I said, I've never had OBC when I had a non-family member in my cabin so unsure how that works. Thanks.

Happened to me too on our upcoming August cruise. I've been able to take advantage of a good number of price drops, but one of them showed a significant increase in taxes which even the agent couldn't explain when I questioned.

There is also an Endless Bubbles program that gets unlimited soda. Around $5.50 per day for kids and I think $6.50 pet day for adults (you have to buy it for the whole cruise)
