  1. A few years ago I used to enjoy reading posts by a lady who travelled on several long HAL Voyages, I cannot remember her screen name but she was a member of the Red Hat Society.

I just wondered if anyone knew of her and if she was well.

  2. If you're sailing ex Southampton - you're likely to see Liver and Onions, Irish Stew and Chicken Tikka Massala rotated in every few days as everyday specials (in place of the usual Steak, Salmon and Chicken) - The everyday Steak on our last cruise was awful (about 5mm thick and very unusual texture). The Scallop (unless it has been improved) is a laughable joke - an appetizer consisting of 1 Scallop about 10mm thick on a shell - barely an Amuse Bouche. I think the Top Chef menu has been dropped on UK cruises, the cultural references are lost on a largely UK passenger group and the food was poorly received

Not what I wanted to read. Our first time sailing from Southampton, thank goodness I've booked a speciality dining package.

  3. It stick's in one's craw to have such massive price hikes and then to be served half a single scallop as a starter and thin slimy steak, Meatloaf, Liver & Onions, and Irish Stew in the MDR. If they want to charge premium prices they need to improve the food quality IMO. Food in the MDR as some peaks (Chateaubriand / Beef Wellington) and troughs (Top Chef menu anyone? :D )
Please dont teĺl me ìs ex Southampton [emoji26]
