  1. We are spending the night before our Eurodam cruise at the Embassy Suites (so many mixed reviews-fingers crossed it is satisfactory). Just wondering if I need to bring a stapler from home to attach the luggage tags or does anyone have an easier solution.

We’ve stayed at the Embassy Suites several times and never had a problem.

  2. We purchase both cancellation and medical insurance independently.

I make a point of checking fares myself up to final payment and if I see any differences I let my TA know right away. Have saved considerably on a few cruises by doing this. Worth the time and trouble.

  3. Have been on several cruises that have a Computer Workshop. The last one on NA several months ago, concentrated on photo storage etc. Unfortunately they were fully booked. Have an upcoming cruise with lots of sea days and we wld like to join this class. When and where do you book a spot ?

    TIA.

  4. Some of the best entertainment we have ever seen, on any cruise line. They do switch around from ship to ship so your never guaranteed you'll get the same musicians in the band. The Motown group we saw in Sept. on the NA were just fantastic. Great way to end an evening and we're looking fwd to this venue on our next cruise.

  5. Are there other brands not shown on the list which can be ordered? DH doesn't like either of the gins. Too perfumey.

I'm with you on your gin taste. I know when we were on the N Amsterdam in September, they didn't have Beefeaters. Sob! Sob!

  6. We haven't seen the HALcats on any HAL ships in a while.

However, we really loved the BB King bands on our latest Oosterdam & Eurodam cruises.

Yes, they're loud, but they're good, and it's live music.

I agree. The All Stars that played in the BB King on the N. Amsterdam during our Panama Cruise in Sept. were one of the best bands we've ever experience on any of our cruises, on any cruise line we've been on. Fantastic entertainment.

  7. We are booked for our first cruise next year! To Alaska. We were all set to book the Whitepass Train trip until our friends returned from their cruise earlier this year. They raved about the bus trip - they took the Skagway Yukon Discovery Adventure with Alaska Shore Excursions. Said it was just fantastic and they were glad they did that instead of taking the train. That it took them further north and they were able to see the dog sleds. Wondering if anyone could give us some guidance on which would be best for a "first (and probably only) timer"!! Thanks!

    Definitely the train.

  8. Some of you may know that I custom make name tags for the M&G that I participate in. There is nothing more frustrating then returning home from a cruise with name tags for people who a) did not show up at the M&G or b) cancelled the cruise and did not post on CC. A little bit of common courtesy goes a long way!

I've had that happen as well on an "O" cruise after printing off dozens of fancy name tags. I vowed "never again" .

  9. I have had to cancel once and I let the roll call group know immediately.

What is more annoying, is people who sign up for the M&G and don't bother to show up. Name tags, reminders sent to the cabins, their names had been included in gift exchange etc.etc. and they end up no shows. Very bad mannered. There is always a way they cld have contacted the leader if an emergency arose to let them know. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes to make these M&G work. Some of them are huge with lots of activities that have to be worked out and thx goodness the majority of members appreciate the efforts that have gone into putting them together.

  10. You can buy a "Beverage Card" (this is not at all the same as the Signature Beverage Package) that is good for all beverages that incur a charge---including specialty coffees.

However, there is no discount attached to this card; it is for convenience only. The Beverage Card can be purchased in amounts of $50, $100, $250. It makes it so much easier to proof out your charges at the end of the cruise, as there is only the one charge for the card showing.

    Thx Ruth and RML.
