  1. My wife and I just returned from a 28 day cruise around Japan on the Westerdam. We had excursions booked thru Holland America for every port. Every excursion involved a lot of walking. Some people simply stayed on the bus due to their mobility issues. That's a pretty expensive bus ride.

  2. Trip Mate is not a travel insurance company. They are a company that some travel insurance companies use to process their claims. According to many posters in the Travel Insurance board, they are well-known for delaying the payment of claims and making the claim process very difficult. Unfortunately, it's usually difficult to know who will be processing your claim unless you really do some research by actually reading the policy.

  3. We're spending several days in Montreal prior to our Holland America cruise. We're staying at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel next to the Notre-Dame Basilica. We'd like some recommendations for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We're not gourmet eaters so mid-priced family-style restaurants would be fine. Within walking distance of the hotel would be great. Thanks for your help.

  4. We did Uniworld Budapest to Bucharest in April. Our cruise ended with two days in Bucharest at the Radisson Blu Hotel. The second day (4-11-19) we had several excursion choices:

8:30 am - 6:00 pm  Sinaia Mountain Resort with Peles Castle visit, lunch and wine (79 euro per person)

    or

Ceausescu's Mansion visit (9:30-11:30 am or 10:30-12:30 pm), no extra cost

3:00-5:30 pm Village Museum (39 euro per person)

Sign-up deadline for the extra cost excursions was 4-9-19 onboard the ship. There was no option to book excursions prior to boarding the ship.

  5. We recently completed the Milan to Venice cruise with Uniworld. There was a lady on the cruise who used an electric scooter. She was traveling with her daughter and I couldn't believe how accommodating the crew was. They carried the scooter on and off the boat and in some cases carried her on and off. She used the scooter on board and there was an elevator on the ship which she utilized to travel between floors.

Going on the Milan-Venice Uniworld cruise later this year....Had a few questions....

    1. Arriving a day early to take in some extra Milan sites...Want to purchase tickets for the Duomo terrace/rooftop...are they the same?

Do they sell them online by time slots or just by the day that you want to visit?

2.In Venice..is the art tour ..or the "walk" recommended?

    thanks...

    Rick

The Uniworld rep will sell you the rooftop tickets to go on your own, but I'd recommend going as part of the Uniworld group so you will have a guide who will explain what you're seeing. Afterwards as part of the tour we went to a restaurant for wine and antipasto that was so filling we didn't need dinner. Uniworld does it right. We didn't do the art tour.
