My wife and I just returned from a 28 day cruise around Japan on the Westerdam. We had excursions booked thru Holland America for every port. Every excursion involved a lot of walking. Some people simply stayed on the bus due to their mobility issues. That's a pretty expensive bus ride.

We used FAB tours in 2018. We booked day tours in the three ports we visited and were picked up and returned to the dock. All three were excellent with wonderful guides, comfortable vans holding 6-8 passengers. Couldn't have been done better and much cheaper than booking thru Holland America.

When we were in Iceland in 2018, we took three tours with Fabtravel https://www.fabtravel.is/en/cruise-ship-day-tours. They were excellent and would use them again.

I cancelled our October Med cruise April 20 and the deposit refund was posted to our credit card June 4.

I cancelled about $3000 worth of shore excursions for our October cruise on 4-16-20 and they were all refunded to my credit card on 4-19-20. I cancelled the cruise on 4-20-20 and am still waiting for the deposit to be refunded.

There are policies that you can purchase after final payment that still cover pre-existing conditions. I suggest you contact Trip Insurance Store (https://tripinsurancestore.com/) and discuss your situation with them. They are brokers who represent several different companies and they'll give you good advice. There is no extra cost going thru them and no pressure.

Trip Mate is not a travel insurance company. They are a company that some travel insurance companies use to process their claims. According to many posters in the Travel Insurance board, they are well-known for delaying the payment of claims and making the claim process very difficult. Unfortunately, it's usually difficult to know who will be processing your claim unless you really do some research by actually reading the policy.

We used FAB tours for each of our three Iceland ports and they were wonderful. They were not photo-specific tours.

We're spending several days in Montreal prior to our Holland America cruise. We're staying at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel next to the Notre-Dame Basilica. We'd like some recommendations for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We're not gourmet eaters so mid-priced family-style restaurants would be fine. Within walking distance of the hotel would be great. Thanks for your help.

I purchase all of my trip insurance thru https://tripinsurancestore.com/. Their web site is a wealth of information but call them so they can answer all your questions and recommend a policy suitable for your needs. Purchasing thru them doesn't increase the cost of the insurance.

We did Uniworld Budapest to Bucharest in April. Our cruise ended with two days in Bucharest at the Radisson Blu Hotel. The second day (4-11-19) we had several excursion choices:
8:30 am - 6:00 pm Sinaia Mountain Resort with Peles Castle visit, lunch and wine (79 euro per person)
or
Ceausescu's Mansion visit (9:30-11:30 am or 10:30-12:30 pm), no extra cost
3:00-5:30 pm Village Museum (39 euro per person)
Sign-up deadline for the extra cost excursions was 4-9-19 onboard the ship. There was no option to book excursions prior to boarding the ship.

We recently completed the Milan to Venice cruise with Uniworld. There was a lady on the cruise who used an electric scooter. She was traveling with her daughter and I couldn't believe how accommodating the crew was. They carried the scooter on and off the boat and in some cases carried her on and off. She used the scooter on board and there was an elevator on the ship which she utilized to travel between floors.

We concluded Highlights of Eastern Europe in Bucharest on April 11, 2019. The Peles Castle Visit Lunch & Wine was 79 Euros per person and the Ceausescu's Mansion visit was no extra cost. Peles Castle was all day and Ceausescu's Mansion was morning only.

My wife and I have done five Uniworld cruises, the latest being Venice. Many people change for dinner but most don't dress very fancy. Wearing your daytime outfit is acceptable. You'll have no trouble socializing and you'll love the cruise. Here's the link for my review:

Going on the Milan-Venice Uniworld cruise later this year....Had a few questions....
1. Arriving a day early to take in some extra Milan sites...Want to purchase tickets for the Duomo terrace/rooftop...are they the same?
Do they sell them online by time slots or just by the day that you want to visit?
2.In Venice..is the art tour ..or the "walk" recommended?
thanks...
Rick
The Uniworld rep will sell you the rooftop tickets to go on your own, but I'd recommend going as part of the Uniworld group so you will have a guide who will explain what you're seeing. Afterwards as part of the tour we went to a restaurant for wine and antipasto that was so filling we didn't need dinner. Uniworld does it right. We didn't do the art tour.

We've found that most people go into the dining room at 7 pm. This is often because you've met friends and want to dine together. But there are people who come in a little bit later. It's never seemed to be problem, particularly if you prefer a table for two.

Of our five Uniworld cruises, Budapest to Bucharest was our least favorite. I've written a review but it hasn't been published yet. If you do take this cruise, I recommend Bucharest to Budapest.

Just returned from our fifth Uniworld cruise: Milan to Venice. Although this is not really a river cruise since most of the time the ship is docked in the Venice lagoon, it was the first time I ever felt any motion on a river cruise. The water traffic in the lagoon caused the ship to rock at times.

Bob: Yes, the food taste even better than it looks and Uniworld takes wonderful care of you. Mention something and it's done. You'll have a wonderful trip.

My wife and I are taking two Uniworld cruises back to back. We just started our Milan to Venice trip. I'm doing a daily blog for anyone interested: https://davejetton.blogspot.com/
These will be our fourth and fifth Uniworld cruises and I plan to review them when we get home.

Call the Trip Insurance Store and discuss with them. They have at least one company that allows purchase 24 hours before final trip payment.
How does HAL Private Touring Full Day Car/Minivan work?
in Holland America Line

Our upcoming cruise has a stop in Alexandria and there are two HAL excursions to Cairo. Maybe it's too early for the excursions to show for your cruise.
