Hello,
Has anyone cruised the Canaries and Portugal itinerary and has thoughts on the ports? See below:
Would you recommend the itinerary? Were the locals reasonably welcoming?
Thank you for any thoughts you have! 🙂

Will be on Equinox this week. For Murano in the app it says "A La Carte Menu ($60)". The last time we were in Murano it was a standard fee like traditional specialty restaurants. Is it now A La Carte for all items, or still $60 fee, or some combination of the two?
Related to that, does anyone recommend the "Five Senses" Menu for $89? Thoughts?
Any help is most appreciated!! 🙂

You will LOVE Celebrity! we have never felt like X was a particularly "older" group. Probably because many of those in older age groups in X ships choose it because they are young at heart 🙂

In my experience the biggest difference is Service. HAL has excellent service, Princess has varied from pretty good to downright terrible.

Celebrity is our favorite line for many of the things you are looking for. Our goal of cruising is to be relaxed and feel taken care of.
We find the food overall to be the best of the major lines, the service is quite a big step up. We have had access to Luminae for suite guests, which was great. And specialty restaurants are innovative and amazing. But even the main dining rooms were very good and we would be happy with just the MDRs.
The ships are gorgeous and entertainment feels more special and interesting, but not glitzy and overdone.
We also like that we dont feel nickled-and-dimed like on RCI and some of the other lines.
Hope you get a chance to try X and you like it as much as we do 🙂

Good information, thank you!!

Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
November will be our 1st MSC cruise. How do the Specialty restaurants work? They are ala carte pricing unless you purchase the "dining experience" and then you get the prefixed price?
Also which ones do you recommend? How much do you usually spend on these?
Appreciate your advise!

Perfect thank you all for the feedback, that is exactly what i was looking for!

Hello! Considering Yacht club on MSC, but wondering if its the right choice for us. We have a 4 year old. Are the public spaces in YC kid friendly? Or would non-YC cabin be a better choice?
Thank you VERY much for your thoughts and opinions! 🙂

Thank you for the leg work, VERY Helpful!! 🙂

Hello? Do you need to purchase a drink package if you book in the Yacht club?
Thank you for your time and thoughts!

thank you all!!

Thank you Keith! In the Regal review it says it was an alternative for formal nights, but that must have just been the reviewers experience.
Can you reserve it only once you are on board? i imagine it books up quickly?
-
Thank you for feedback on Crab Shack. Is it correct that they have it only during the formal nights? So that would be twice on a 7 day cruise
You can only book it once you are on board?
Is it worth the $29?
Thank you for your thoughts!!

Yes, the single-device package. that is helpful thank you!

I see that unlimited Wifi upgrade for $50 per person is available. Can just one person in a room get it? Or is it like the beverage package than everyone in the same room has to get it?
Does it work on all devices? Did you feel like it was worth it?
Thank you for feedback!!! :)

I agree with prior posts, Princess is just slightly less classier than X, but still well above the more family oriented lines. We were surprised by Princess and now include it in our favorites along with X and HAL.
relaxation - very comparable to X
great dining - very comparable, buffet we actually like better than X
nice adult pool area - very nice, few children
excellent service - it was just one princess cruise but was actually BETTER than some of our cruises on X. although both are great. :)

Looking at Escape next February for group cruise. What is your opinion of the solo cabins?
Is the general price somewhere between a full and 1/2 of a double room rate?
Are the solo public spaces useful?
Thank you for your thoughts!

good information thank you all!

Our favorite line was Celebrity for quite a while (and is still among our favorites).
But we have found that on Princess we get a lot of what we like about Celebrity, but at a substantially lower price.
And on Princess we stayed in the main dining room for all dinners, and that's the first time we have ever done that, so it must have been good!
We also liked that on Princess we didn't feel like there was as much of a class system as on Celebrity.
Hope that is helpful!

We now have a 2 year old child (changes so much about cruising!). Looking for thoughts on which lines are the most accommodating for adding a 3rd passenger to our room. Are there certain lines that often run the "3rd passenger is FREE" promotions?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you VERY much!! :)
Drink Package on Vista for July cruise - bars too busy?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Hello! We are cruising on the Vista in July, wondering about the drink package. Not so much if its worth it, but if we get the packeage can we readily get drinks from the various bars onboard, or is it a struggle with lines and under staffing? If some bars have long waits, is there any specific bars you recommend that are usually less busy?
I would rather not get drinks than get the package and be frustrated because the lines and wait time are super long.
Thank you for any thoughts you have! 🙂
