  1. So glad your kids enjoyed the kids club. We were on this cruise also, my daughter who is 10 went to the kids club Monday night after dinner. She stayed for the party that night, but then decided she didn't want to go back anymore. She kept saying she wanted to go then when it was time for her to actually go she would change her mind. Although I think one of the main reasons was because her sister who is 12 was in circle C and she did not really click with anyone there so she didn't go to her activities and stayed with us.

My husband and I did notice the Breeze looking worn down. And we were kinda disappointed in the service. While most of the crew was very nice they just seemed like they didn't want to be bothered to do anything extra. A couple of times when we ordered our drinks I swear the bartenders just looked upset that they had to make something.

  2. I just got off the Breeze on Sunday (2-12).

We were asked if we wanted morning or evening. Not asked about both. While I knew, from here, that was still an option I decided on just doing the once a day and in the evening. Big mistake and one I won't make again.

I did not notice any of the carpets looking worn out. I did notice spots and stains on some of the public area seating. ie dining room. And the outdoor cushions in the serenity and on deck 11 looked and felt very worn. Those definitely need replacing.

We were faster to the fun so got priority debarkation and was delayed a little bit due to fog (couple of hours). We were off the ship and in our car at 11am

  3. I can understand how someone would be disappointed with the itinerary change. Sounds like you will now have 5 sea days instead of three. For someone that isn't too keen on sea days, I would not be happy. And I do see how a cruise that is 7 days long vs 4 day cruise should get more compensation for what they lost.

Thus saying, I understand that Carnival doesn't have to do anything, but it would definitely hurt their customer base if they changed cruises frequently without any compensation.

I'm not sure what I would do if I were on this cruise. I think it would depend on what other vacation I could put together on short notice. Five sea days would really drive me crazy.

  4. I have left my dslr in the room without any problems. I usually take my dslr and use it for pictures around the ship or when I'm not gonna be in contact with water and will leave it in the room. I hardly ever "hide" or "stash" my camera in the room. I'm too scatterbrained and usually in a hurry to do that.

  5. That is horrible. A waiter or anyone that works in the food industry should never let how they feel about a situation be known either by non-verbal and verbal clues.

I hope you get some resolution that you will be happy with, but I also realize that very likely this will never be addressed with you.

  6. Our last cruise was during spring break. I was really worried about it being a party cruise, but really wasn't. There was plenty of kids for my kids to play with. The only time we saw drunk college kids was when we were watching for the pier runners in Cozumel. But with kids we didn't go to the lounges or late night parties.

Kim, do you mind answering a couple of photography questions for me? Your pictures are awesome and I hope to one day be a decent photographer myself.:)

What mode/filter effect did you use to get the look of the above picture?

Do you do much post processing of your photos?

I assume you do underwater mode on your camera with the snorkeling pictures. Do you have to do much post processing to make them not blue or do they come out of the camera with the corrected color?

Thanks so much. Loving your review!

  8. Hubby and I bought a couple microfiber towels at REI. They're solid color and I put them into our carry-ons that we stow under the plane seats in front of us. They provide lightweight cover on chilly flights (and I know they are clean and unused by others). They are great beach towels, sand shakes right out easily. Fast drying and resistant to smells. (I've actually washed them in the shower and let them drip dry overnight.) The ones we bought can be rolled up and stored in the accompanying case that came with them.

I have been thinking about getting some of those. I have decided that this year my girls are going to carry their own stuff and I am concerned that those Carnival towels are going to be too heavy when it wet.

  9. Just did that itinerary earlier this month.

I did not save the Fun Times, but do download their App onto a phone or tablet before you go.

Once onboard you will be able to see the schedule of events for the entire week.

Cannot say it includes everything the Fun Times does as I did not do a direct comparison but if not, it has to be most of the events. It did include the "smaller" events like the cooking demonstration (first sea day 1130 at the steakhouse), and the chocolate buffet (last see day at 12:00 at the back buffet line by the Italian restaurant stairway), all the trivia, etc. That App is reason enough to carry a smartphone IMO.

Have fun. We really enjoyed it.

I have the hub app on my phone, but would really like to plan a little bit ahead. DH is not a "cruiser"; he really doesn't care for sea days so I am trying to get an idea of what is available and what I need to prepare for.

    Thanks.
