A lot of people seem to get hung up on the idea of a "free" shuttle...but, remember, NOTHING is ever really "free" any place.  Any hotel in any location, if offering a shuttle, is really just accounting for it in their pricing structure.  Would you rather pay $200 for a night in a hotel and get a "free" shuttle...or spend $150 for the same hotel with no shuttle--and spend $40 on an Uber?

Hotels in the immediate vicinity of LAX supply "free" shuttles to the terminals--because the competition demands it...Everyone staying there is doing so for the access to the airport.  Hotels in San Pedro MAY offer free shuttles (the Doubletree and Best Western do--because they are close to the port, but not walking distance).  The Crowne Plaza now charges something like $5 pp--because they are walking distance and not everyone wants the service...or many just get an Uber--because it's cheap.  But they are not bothering with shuttles from LAX because it's 20 miles (LGB is 16 miles, SNA and BUR both over 30 miles).

Just figure your Uber/Lyft/Shuttle/Taxi cost into your budget.

I wasn't looking for anything "free"  I was looking for convenience

  2. Recently found out that our ship will be staying overnight in Havana.  Any recommendations on things to do?  We have a tour scheduled for the day, but have no idea what to do in the evening.  I don't want to just hang out on the ship.  We are not major party people and can't do long walks.

    How safe are taxis?

  3. We will be in Havana for one day and already have a tour planned through RCCL.  We would like to try an authentic Cuban restaurant near the pier.  We can't do a lot of walking, so something close is a must.

    Would love some recommendations

    thanks

  4. We are going on a B2B on the Majesty in January. We had made our 1st reservation a while ago and then decided to add to it. Hubby and I will be in one cabin and my BF will be in another for the 2nd cruise. We are all in the 2 bedroom suite for the first. When we booked the 2nd leg we were given 8:30 pm dining. We requested MyTime. We were told that we had to get in touch with dining to make the change. My BF just spoke to them and was give My Time because of her Diamond status, but we are still waitlisted because we are not.

Does this make any sense?? Are Hubby and I supposed to eat together and BF eat by herself?

  5. Has anyone done this shore excursion while in Grand Bahama Island? We will be sailing on the Grandeur of the Seas on April and will be going to Grand Bahama instead of Coco Cay and there is not too much to choose from.

Would love to hear anyone's experience
