I was on the Magic August 12 and would like to add a tip.  There is a wonderful, peaceful place to sit (on a sofa, in the shade) on Deck 11 aft.

Good to know as my cabin is just inside the door and down the hall from there. Will be sailing Sept. 13.

On Wednesday, I went to my local Walgreens and received my pre-cruise rapid test (since I am vaxed), test came back negative....YEA, I can cruise.

Showed up at Port Canaveral, presented them with; my passport, boarding pass, vax card, and pre-cruise test.  Well....there's a problem...oh NO.

Apparently, the test I received didn't report a few very important details for it to be acceptable for check in.  The email contained test results, but not additional pertinent information for the Carnival requirements for pre-screen process.  The test failed to have my name and birth date for them to process me.  Was ushered over to a holding area so that they could verify the information.  Basically, after waiting for 10mins, I had to log out of the test retrieval area (in my email) and log back into the site.  In order to log into the site (Walgreens reporting site), you had to enter your birthday.  I showed the agent, as I entered my birthdate, and was cleared to sale.

In short, make sure your test lists your name and birthdate on your test results or be prepared to have a slight hiccup in immediately getting on the ship.

Thought this experience might be helpful for some, so you don't unnecessarily start stressing out before your vacation.  I'm a go with the flow guy, so no stressing on my end and all the Carnival port people were super nice, but certainly something to keep in mind.

BTW....while in the holding area, there was a lady who was tested on Tuesday (4 days prior to sailing).  She had also tested negative, but was denied sailing because she didn't follow the instructions of testing NO MORE THAN 3 days from sailing.  So....be sure to read all the emails Carnival sends you on the exact requirements.

Thank you for letting us know you were able to get on the ship.

Have the cabins been updated to handle cell phones, tablets, cameras, and other rechargeable  items?

I was on the first sailing of the Magic! It was pretty great, a low-key return to sailing!

Gary was a very fun Cruise Director -- I talked to him a couple of times, and he was really present with everything that goes into making a cruise run. "Deal or No Deal" was an absolute BLAST and I really enjoyed the "Celebrity Heads" game that he and the Fun Squad did. He's not as in-your-face as other CDs, which is more my style but will probably not be for everyone who wants a more over-the-top personality.

Eddie Spaghetti was the karaoke host in the Red Frog and I love him. Also, Brad in the piano bar is EPIC! If you love Elton John, Brad is your guy. I miss him already.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have!

Have they updated the plugs in the cabin to charge multi items.

  5. We will be cruising in Oct. and stopping at Cartegena, Columbia. I read somewhere there is a nature center near Port Oasis where I believe the Legend will be docking. Does anyone have information on this. Thanks.

  6. I will be driving to Tampa, Fl staying the night at a hotel. Next morning getting on an airplane to Las Angles where I will get on the Carnival Legend to travel back to Tampa through the Panama Canal. My question is what hotels will allow me to stay one night and leave my car there for 17 days. I would need a shuttle to the airport for my flight and then a shuttle back to the hotel after the cruise.  Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

  7. We just got back from Cozumel and spent the day at Nachi.

    It was sold out.

It did not seem crowded at all

    The wait staff was great.

    It was quiet and peaceful

    I highly suggest this place.

If you were on a cruise ship do you remember how much the cab ride cost?

    Thanks

  8. Has anyone cruised from Tampa, used the parking garage on a B2B? In Port Canaveral they have not way to charge for 10 days when you enter the garage... or if you prepay your first leg so basically you get a Buy One Get One free on the parking. I was wondering if that happens in Tampa or do they have someway to charge for the full time. Just trying to be prepared as to what parking will cost for our cruise.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Linda have you sailed yet for the above cruise and is so what did you find out about the parking? We are doing a B2B in Sept. out of Tampa and will face the same situation.

    Thanks

  9. Booked: Jan 15, 2015 (24 Hour Sale)

    Sail date: June 1, 2015

    Ship: Splendor

    Class of guarantee: IS Interior

Date assigned: May 19, 2015 (13 days before sail date)

    Yippee! :D

In April we were on the Valor and had received an IS on Lido. It is a great location. Enjoy your cruise.

  10. haha actually yes! It happened to both me and J on the same line (the guides said the line isn't steep enough so lots of people get stuck on that specific line). At the start of the day, they told us what to do if that happens... let yourself turn around backwards and use your hands to pull yourself in. I was worried that I wouldn't have the upper body strength to do it, but it was actually much easier than I anticipated! I think the pulleys help you to roll along the lines. Luckily I was only short by about 15 feet (J was more like 50 ft short but he pulled himself in safely too)

The next day did you have any muscles telling you they were abused while on the zipline? Looks like you had a wonderful time.

  11. How do you find out so early what your assigned room is?
It depends on how quickly the ships cabins are booked up. When the percentage of empty cabins reach a certain number they are filled with those waiting for their assignment. Sometimes it is a day or two before you cruise that you find out where you will be sleeping.
