  1. The Regal is one of our favorite ships. We did the maiden TA from Venice to FLL 17 days. We were back in Dec. for a Carib cruise.

I wont restate what others have said. In addition, nice gym. Supposed to open at 7AM but the doors are always open. Deep pool from 7.5' to about 6'. Great to swim laps in. Bring you goggles. Best buffet on the sea for breakfast and lunch. Hot casino, more so on the TA then the Carib.

    Enjoy!

  2. I think Ray and Barbara from Tasmania are high and approaching 2500 days. They spend much of the year on Princess ships.

Met them on a cruise in Sept or Oct of some year.

Didn't know who they were and asked when they were getting off. They said April. I though they were confused by my question. Guess not.

    Enjoy

  3. The first night free din is not a P promotion. It's from your TA. You will get a card in your room prior to sailing. I have called the restaurant and asked if we can use it on another night. Sometimes they agree sometimes not. The last cruise we had 2 free nights. One from the TA and one from a P promotion. We also decided to eat at the buffet one night. We were on a 7 day Carib cruise and didn't show up to our assigned table until the 4th night. We did have the pleasure of having dinner with a very nice family the last 3 nights.

Also, the TA usually gives us a free bottle of champagne. It's a pretty cheap bottle of champagne. We trade that for a bottle of red wine which we have used for 2 dinners.

    Have fun

  4. The main reason we chose P over X for cruises with lots of sea days is because Marie plays duplicate bridge. She doesn't attend the moring bridge lectures but she is there every afternoon for the game We did a transatlantic on X a couple of years ago. The ship was beautiful but we never went back because of the dup bridge situation. On our Emerald cruise last fall she and her partner won the ship's championship.

Unfortunately we will now have to reconsider.

  5. If it`s not offered by the ship set it up on CC.

Get a group of 4 or 5 set up a time to meet at one of the bars. Go to the bar when you get on the ship and tell them what you want to do and when you want to do it.

I attended a Jameson tasting set up by the ship.

We had a booze tasting set up by ourselves. 5 of us went to one of he quiet bars and ordered a shot split 5 ways. The ship lined up 10 or 15 whiskeys to select from. They also had a lady there who was an expert on the different drinks. She described each drink to us. Each one of us selected a drink to taste and it was divided 5 ways. I ordered Johnnie Walker Blue. We split the final bill

5 ways. One of us set the whole tasting up when we we on board and informed the other of the time and place. Turned out to be about $10 each with the tip.

    Have fun.

  6. We have done very well with CCL stock. About 2 or 3 years ago it went up 5 points in one day and we sold most if it.

Also have done well with RCL. RCL was in the low 20s for a long time. Now it's around 35.

NCLH did a IPO about a month ago at $19 and now it's 31.

None of that includes the benefit of the OBC.

The cruise business is doing well. Use disasters as a buying opportunity.

  7. Diamond is great.

We went on the Alaska to Beijing cruise this past fall.

Restaurant service and cabin service were perfect.

The Diamond is the currently the largest ship in the P fleet. It also has one less floor then the newer ships. The capacity is about 400 passengers less then the newer ships. It just seems less crowded. More space in the restaurant and more space in the show theater.

    Have a great trip.

  8. Thanks all for your help.

The train, bus deal doesn't sound so good. I would be nervous thinking about missing the ship.

I think it's either a RT taxi to Kinsale or a day in Cork City.

We have spent a day in Cobh .

We did walk the Titanic trail and drank pints of Bemish and Murphy's.

    That was fun.

  9. We will be arriving in Cobh on the Emerald Princess.

We would like to spend the day in Kinsale.

The Princess tour goes to Cork City and Blarney before Kinsale. It only spends 45 min in Kinsale.

We would really like to spend some time in Kinsale and have lunch there.

Does anyone know how much a taxi would cost to make the RT or can you take public transportation?

    Thanks

    Mike
